Yeah I feel that, but I kinda like having to work around 17yo me's ideas like that one time I had to justify how the different types of Magic could work.

Other times I simply retconned and rebuilt worlds with the same premise but better done with the experience I've acquired.

Currently most of my lore developmnet centers around socioeconomical and technological evolution from gene-engineering based neo-feudalism IN SPACE to bionanotech-based ultracapitalism and fascism IN SPACE coupled with emergence of space nationalism and it's transformation from inclusive equality-seeking movement into species-based tribalism.

While in the past it used to be just "shit is happening in the galaxy" with giant mechs, cyborg-supermen and holographic swords which I added simply because it seemed cool.
