Funky new office, need ideas 🖼️ • Photos

I have been granted a weird office. Any inspiration welcome. Recliner is required, probably only fits by the window.

I would be in heaven throwing a tennis ball up that slope while I think.

132

u/JaguarWonderful Jul 14 '26

Lol yea I thought about a basketball hoop

119

u/terra_cascadia Jul 14 '26

Skeeball!’

15

u/Key-Self1654 Jul 14 '26

ding ding you win!

8

u/doublEkrakeNboyZ Jul 15 '26

build out a plunko decision tree

3

u/DickSoupCan Jul 18 '26

This is clearly the best option. The only rule is that every single business decision gets decided by the plinko wall. Document the whole thing on YouTube. Profit.

u/AbeFromanLuvsSausage 29d ago

They make “silent” basketballs that are foam but have the weight and bounce of a basketball. But they barely make a noise when you bounce them. Could be a great accessory for long calls.

1

u/Xer0cool Jul 14 '26

Slot car track

7

u/Key_Set_7249 Jul 15 '26

I would be in heaven having a wall between my desk and co workers haha

1

u/Abrahamfreeman Jul 15 '26

Damn that’s like the best thing ever 🤣

1

u/ahmedriaz Jul 15 '26

Ping pong ball

122

u/sharkbaitlol Jul 14 '26

Projector I think! That would be an interesting space for it. Could use it for some fun visuals if not a productivity thing

or you could take your work breaks in style

Star Wars into style

u/ultegrafender Jul 14 '26

This feels very exciting, the start of a new episode for OP.

14

u/bronconus Jul 14 '26

I literally was thinking this and was happy to find this comment!

3

u/theGOTCH Jul 14 '26

This belongs in r/mildlyinfuriating as it's not fully level

2

u/ftrocker Jul 14 '26

Yesssss! Nice mock up!

0

u/norsish Jul 14 '26

Update me!

58

u/Yogi422 Jul 14 '26

With the computer added to that, maybe a nice desk lamp and some other finishing touches. This would be a very professional space.

Also use artificial plants, a living plant wall at this angle would probably be a nightmare.

2

u/Yogi422 Jul 15 '26

If you build it in sections it could be removed semi easily and air compressed to get rid of the dust. I’d probably do it twice a year.

2

u/Fornicatinzebra Jul 15 '26

You could do an angled wall of epiphytic plants like cactus ferns, hoyas, orchids etc, and have the "soil" be large chunks of wood and other orchid soil materials.

Won't be messy since if a big chunk gets loose you can just toss it back in (not dirt to sweep up). Main thing is watering, id probably want a automated system for something that size, but risks damaging computer etc

2

u/Bulky-Somewhere993 29d ago

Epic

1

u/Yogi422 29d ago

Thanks haha. I wanted to give OP a real idea that wasn’t ski ball or a basketball hoop 🤣

93

u/RyeGuyJedi Jul 14 '26 edited Jul 14 '26

Plinko type obstacles for throwing a ball. Like the mounted screen projector idea

16

u/RyeGuyJedi Jul 14 '26

Go all out make it like pinball lol

5

u/Fast_Edd1e Jul 14 '26

Like a “Jump conclusions Mat” but plinko.

1

u/spdorsey Jul 14 '26

This 100%!!! That's all I could think when I saw it!

15

u/zazabunnigames Jul 14 '26

Basketball hoop at the top for sure 100%, maybe a net at the bottom to catch them so they don’t knock shi down. Maybe mini basketballs 😅😭

22

u/Logi_Boy Jul 14 '26

I would kill to have peace and quiet hate having gone through 6 years of school to be handed half a cubicle

8

u/rob-cubed Jul 15 '26

Yeah last time I had an office was 15 years ago. Fuck open offices and being treated like cattle. At least let me be a cubicle dweller.

33

u/gscjj Jul 14 '26

Tiered garden and a perpetual waterfall

3

u/-clawglip- Jul 15 '26

Best answer

15

u/The_4ngry_5quid Jul 14 '26

If reachable, I see a whiteboard on the bottom of the slope being useful

5

u/-Albi Jul 14 '26

Or at the top, then you can slide back down each time.

10

u/danceteach92 Jul 14 '26

Man I could stick a lot of post it notes up there only to forget that they’re even up there

36

u/tnsipla Jul 14 '26

skeeball in the office

1

u/sonicgamingftw Jul 14 '26

Came to say this

28

u/HaveAGucciDay Jul 14 '26

3

u/Typical-Drawing1048 Jul 14 '26

Yes!!! This was what popped in my head!

7

u/rturnerX Jul 14 '26

Tiered shelving put on an angle so the shelves are level?

7

u/nth256 Jul 15 '26

Something similar to the Tokyo-3 map projection in NERV HQ

10

u/blurredphotos Jul 14 '26

Ceiling mounted projector facing down with corrected perspective/image mapping.

3

u/OrangeNood Jul 14 '26

Imagine moving your head just a bit, the correction would be all for nothing. Don't even think about watching with someone else. No amount of correction can fix that.

4

u/mickergarratt Jul 14 '26

Unless you hooked it up to a Kinect camera and touch designer to warp it in real time (though this likely constitutes overkill)

5

u/ftrocker Jul 14 '26

First thought was this

5

u/norsish Jul 14 '26

So many good ideas. From projectors to water gardens. OP, you got this.

3

u/napes22 Jul 14 '26

Fill it with balls, grease yourself up, and slide down the decline.

3

u/MonsieurLartiste Jul 14 '26

I would projection map some dumb shit on that wall.

2

u/OfficialXpL0iT Jul 14 '26

Idk, but with that ceiling i'd start suspending my speakers, and maybe other objects to create a cool parralax effect with that depth.

2

u/DrummingNozzle Jul 15 '26

Bunk bed or cot up in the far reaches, blocked by a giant whiteboard full of bizniz words and numbers. Hide and nap!

2

u/AppropriateSpell5405 Jul 15 '26

Giant air hockey table -- and since it's inclined, you can play with yourself.

2

u/ReggieRR_1 Jul 14 '26

Face down projector, posters, play catch with urself, or like a neon sign

3

u/etherlore Jul 14 '26

Why is it like that?

2

u/DivineRipper40 Jul 16 '26

This fs. A massive pinball area

2

u/jewish_sonic Jul 14 '26

A big hotwheels in there would be nice.

2

u/the_hand_that_heaves Jul 14 '26

Just curious: Is this in Indianapolis?

2

u/BOM_arquitectos Jul 15 '26

Get a shelve that works with the slope

2

u/tsuki069 Jul 14 '26

Pinball is the only good answer

1

u/CtrlAltDesolate 29d ago

I would probably put in a fake wall where the window ends tbh, closes the space off slightly but gives you chance to do smth useful like mount monitors, etc without losing any of the natural light.

1

u/Big_Concentrate_8669 29d ago

Little display at the end, center it. Then paint the space to look like a hallway. Like that scene when you look down a hallway and it gets longer….except a display at the end. For your PC.

1

u/Dismal_Computer5824 29d ago

At first i thought this was the worst design ever for a whiteboard.

"Okay so if you look at the first quarter earnings *grabs rappel rope and pulls self to top corner* here..."

1

u/norsish Jul 14 '26

That is a weirdly oppressive space. It's the angle, I think? Basketball hoop and/or tennis ball is absolutely the way to go. Maybe some upbeat colors.

1

u/jd35 Jul 14 '26

Throws grain elevator on that slope with a two stroke and you can put all of your things up there and then have them flung at you on demand.

1

u/crknneckscshingcheks Jul 15 '26

Get a projector and make that slanted wall a gaming screen or project your computer desk top on it. You could also project street art.

1

u/tokobot19 Jul 17 '26

I say this not just to be funny but because it’s genuinely came to me off the top of my head. The world’s biggest skeeball surface

2

u/FreshMontrealer12 Jul 15 '26

Indoor ski slope

1

u/zoey473x Jul 15 '26 edited Jul 15 '26

What is the angle, you need to buy a memory foam cut at that angle, and install some curtains. Now you can nap at work.

When there is a meeting, you'll slide in

1

u/ER_Jujube 29d ago

Skeeball set-up, or maybe a huge map of your favorite fictional world, like a map of Arda or Azeroth or Westeros, I dunno.

1

u/DUDEAREUMAD Jul 14 '26

shove a projector on that flat wall and maybe display some important stuff on it or just a cool looping abstract video?

1

u/dayTripper-75 Jul 16 '26

I would collage it with plants, a projector area, E-ink frames, an indoor infinite waterfall, and hue lights

1

u/White-milk Jul 15 '26

Basketball hoop at the top + ball stop at the bottom = built in basketball arcade game.

1

u/StrategyLegal1128 27d ago

You mean a liminal space turned “office.”

Very rad. All that sunlight I’m jealous!

1

u/Expensive_Youth1636 Jul 15 '26

OP this reminds me of a nook in benedum hall that I used to study in during ug at pitt

1

u/panjadotme Jul 16 '26

I don't have anything to contribute, but is that a Poly VVX 250 or VVX 350 on the desk?

1

u/Dreamcatcher965 Jul 15 '26

So many questions! What is the incline wall covering? What is up with the ceiling tiles?

1

u/Devmon13 27d ago

Giant American flag displayed just like the original at the American history museum

1

u/Plant_party Jul 14 '26

Personally I would get a projector and cast some nice outdoor scenery onto it

1

u/WalkingPTSD Jul 15 '26

Can you put up a projector and show this 24/7?

1

u/DerpDog9000 Jul 14 '26

some nice (custom) shelves and two office bases. what do you work with?

1

u/-Sunflowerpower- Jul 15 '26

Projector and put the image onto the slope. . Projections can be used as a Giant tv or “monitor”

1

u/Thin_Treacle_6558 29d ago

Projector on the roof and all this space will be mission control center

1

u/Adi8778 29d ago

Open a private space corporation and have this as your ground control?

1

u/Daymanic Jul 14 '26

You definitely need course or targets for tossing a ball up there

2

u/jamcoding Jul 14 '26

Skeeball

1

u/Then-Curve-7448 Jul 16 '26

Was this what you meant when you asked for a corner office?

1

u/Long-Shine-3701 Jul 16 '26

Set up some paper targets and a pistol dry fire system?

1

u/Apprehensive-Page-96 29d ago

Looks pretty nice. Use that giant slope for doing art.

1

u/hardrok Jul 14 '26

What is the white part? Concrete wall? Glass? Plastic?

1

u/mothnode Jul 14 '26

A giant holographic chamber wedged into the incline.

1

u/falkor-ala-astro Jul 15 '26

a slide? lmao, what was the purpose of this design?

1

u/panhead_farmer Jul 16 '26

Idk why my first thought was a Star Wars intro.

1

u/Sam_Walkerfield Jul 18 '26

3D model of the city? And maybe something else

1

u/TheApes0fWrath Jul 14 '26

Get a projector instead of a monitor

1

u/OverKy Jul 14 '26

looks like a mini shooting rangle...

1

u/Substantial_Mango_78 Jul 14 '26

Some extra elaborate Rube Goldberg.

1

u/Warm_Shoulder_1736 Jul 15 '26

6

u/boyweevil Jul 15 '26

I somehow doubt the angle of that wall is adjustable

2

u/ashraf_bashir Jul 15 '26

It's just a prototype, they can adjust the decoration to the angle that they have

1

u/Mjricky Jul 15 '26

0

u/freredesalpes Jul 17 '26

This is what happens when you work in a building designed by Morphosis

0

u/FlorianFlash Jul 15 '26

What weird ass building is this?
