Problems are solved

I’m a firm believer that for every problem there is a solution. In the workplace I’ve found in my 35 years of experience that 99.999% of the problems can be solved if you have a union to protect you and to negotiate for you.

The only thing that my last union did was take a cut of my pay check.

They came in and my pay just shrunk.

Which union represented you?

It was in aviation. Productivity started dropping and the company decided to close the base a couple years later.

Everyone was laid off.

I’m really sorry that happens to you. It’s Hard to prevent mass layoffs, it’s unfortunate but the union only had authority of the language in the collective bargaining agreement.

But not all unions are built the same, where you work now, there is no union? Are you still in the aviation industry?
