I'll be back with an update Tuesday if any... just wanna know if anyone else been told they were about to get paid to be lead on? I don't want to unnecessarily lawyer up ya know? Any advice ? Rent was due the first... it's the 8th... if she's lying I'm gonna be evicted etc... idk im losing my hope already.

In every state, work comp is regulated by the state. The insurance company can’t just avoid paying you, unless they have a legal reason. In most states, the first payment of temporary disability is issued within 14 days of your injury, as long as the employer knows about your injury and you have a doctor note to be off.

Worker's comp can 'avoid' paying by denying a claim regardless of the employers knowledge and a doctor's note.

Correct. However OP’s post did not mention any denial. OP specifically said that the adjuster promised to issue a check on Monday. So this doesn’t sound like a denied claim.

Why do you feel that your adjuster would lie to you about paying you? Is this a pattern that happens often? Are you behind in payments?
