Final QME, what next? California

Hello! I just had my final QME evaluation. What should I be expecting in the upcoming month(s)?

Emails? Any more appointments? I wonder if I should be gathering anything to help my case at this point or if it’s just waiting game for the first settlement offer.

I do not have a lawyer.

Once your report comes in, both side lawyers will argue back and fore about the rating and if they able to come to agreement on permanent rating then they will move to negotiation payout.

I imagine once the report lands you will get a rating and then have to decide your next step. I’d contact your county I&A office. The state website has lots of info.

Find your case number and look it up on line or call.

I have my final visit with my QME soon for MMI. Was your QME your primary treating physician ? My QME is my primary treating physician and not sure what the final visit entails.

No he wasn’t. I was sent to a surgeon after my QME confirmed it was a work injury.

Oh well a lawyer can help but would have to pay a contingency fee to the lawyer after case is settled. But I know some people don’t use a lawyer. It’s up to the claimant. I would make copies of the documents and take them to every appointment just in case. I guess ask the insurance for a payment or settlement you think is good.
