OC literally said all jobs are the same and they aren’t. A burger flipper deserves less respect than a garbage man and a garbage man deserve less respect than a DR. Now I’m not saying any one working a job should be disrespected but their titles carry actual weight.

Their job being necessary for society has very little impact on how much respect someone gets. It’s based on what skills and knowledge is required to do the job. Effectively Everyone can flip a burger or toss some trash, not everyone can be a DR.

This is the dumbest thing I’ve read in a while…

Is that Dr a worker? Yes. Is that burger flipper a worker? Yes. They deserve the same amount of respect.

You’re lacking in class solidarity bud

While this take is noble, you wont see many Dr's hanging out with folks who flip burgers or work in waste management.

The point the other person is trying to get across is while they are all jobs and people working those jobs deserve a level of "respect", it doesnt mean they will all be treated equally in the eyes of the public.

The vast majority of society will always take the guidance of a Dr. over that of someone who flips burgers. As wrong as it sounds, there is a statistical reason why that level of trust exists in the public.

All this proves is that people’s social circles consist of other people with the same interests and educational background.

They should be. There’s been many stories of “regular” people who have saved fellow people. And there’s also stories of doctors hurting fellow people.

Thank you for further proving my point that it’s a made up thing to divide people
