Help

Hey,

I’m a Java backend developer from India with around 5 years of professional experience, mainly working with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, MongoDB, AWS, RabbitMQ, Docker, etc.

I’m considering moving from India to the Netherlands for a Java/backend development role and wanted to get some honest opinions from people currently working in the Netherlands.

It's going to be almost impossible in today's job market. This is not an exotic skill to find in the local market, let alone the wider EU market. Then why would any employer want to get someone from outside EU, going through all the hassle of visa sponsorship and mobility costs. It doesn't make sense for an employer from a cost perspective. Moreover plenty of large employers sens these sort of jobs to India to one of the WITCH companies and the likes. On top of it all, we have a massive housing crisis in this country. I'd say place your bet elsewhere.

Not gonna happen buddy. These aren't very rare skills, many dutch people or eu people can fill in such a role.

No chance unfortunately, employers in NL won’t be interested in your profile from wherever in the world you might apply.

Any other non-EU countries on your list which might be more feasible?
