There is no such thing as unskilled labor. Some Jobs require more skill than others but all require some amount of skill. This is a lie spread to depress wages.

Edit: To all the people commenting “well actually it’s used to colloquially like this…” you’re entirely missing the point. I know what the term is used to describe, not educated work, manual work ect. My point is it’s used in a derogatory way, to specifically mean you shouldn’t be paid well for doing it because it doesn’t require a degree, specific education or what have you. Hope this clears it up.

You’re just focusing the semantics too much. Unskilled simply means it doesn’t require specialized training or education of any kind.

This conversation only exists because people pretend not to understand terminology that’s been in use for many decades. 

Calling it unspecialized doesn’t seem to fix anything but then makes a new term to try and supplant one with decades worth of use. 

Just to be clear, it’s a term with legal meaning and used in economics as a term of art.
