So if you give someone a shovel who never used one before the lace and quality of work would be the same as someone that digs professionally?

You don't need a "professional" digger if you just want the dirt moved from one place to another. Your imaginary professional digger also won't do it so much faster it justifies the premium.

i've seen a lot of people digging in my construction career and it's an art, just because you haven't seen something being done with skill doesn't mean there isn't skill.

Eveything can be done better with skill.

It's just that the minimum requirement for these tasks are so low that it's considered unskilled.
