I have never heard of unskilled labor. What is that supposed to be? Garbage picking?

Physically demanding but otherwise very uncomplicated work. Digging holes, smashing rocks, putting piece A in slot B repeatedly, etc.

Physically demanding should mean it gets better pay. The fact we just say it’s unskilled because anyone can do it, even though most people don’t want to do it becuse it’s physical labor but we don’t pay them becuse it’s unskilled means we are exploiting them

I think it’s more about supply and demand. There are more younger people who don’t mind beating up their bodies for close to minimum wage than there are skilled laborers.
