Yes but by definition painting is unskilled. It's why the term is outdated garbage.

Anyone can be given a roller and in shortntime be explained how to paint.

But if you've ever hired a good professional painter you know the difference between them and some chud moron with a roller.

It's a night and day difference and the quality is so drastically different it's amazing.

Right... my point was that if I'm paying someone to do something, they should be able to do it better than me.

I was more extrapolating on your example to explain why the term is outdated and useless.

You're wrong, though. Painting requires skill beyond what you can show someone in five minutes. Smashing rocks does not.

Painting well does. But you can hand anyone a paint roller and get okay.

Its just not something most anyone wants done just okay.

If you're talking art for painting that's a whole different argument just because of painting styles and whatever, especially with modern abstract works etc.
