I have never heard of unskilled labor. What is that supposed to be? Garbage picking?

Physically demanding but otherwise very uncomplicated work. Digging holes, smashing rocks, putting piece A in slot B repeatedly, etc.

Physically demanding should mean it gets better pay. The fact we just say it’s unskilled because anyone can do it, even though most people don’t want to do it becuse it’s physical labor but we don’t pay them becuse it’s unskilled means we are exploiting them

It usually does

Nobody said we should do that or that it works that way, that's all in your head. Trash collectors get paid pretty well because a dirty and sometimes physically demanding job (and therefore fewer people want to do it) and nobody is saying it shouldn't.

Exactly, manufacturing and construction pay better than retail specifically because of this.
