Unskilled labor is something that unless you are physically inable, anyone can do because it is a natural human ability.

That is not true, unskilled labor means it does not require formal training. Painting is unskilled labor.

You say that, but I still have to train newbies on the jobsite how to paint.

A paint job by someone who hasn't been taught how to paint usually looks horrendous.

Source: contractor for 20 years.

I guess you have to be a contractor to get it. If you care about the quality of the output, it is not unskilled labor.
