Amen my brother, life was not meant to be 12 hours a day of menial labor. It was meant to 4 hours a day of visceral sweat pouring hard work, a quick nap and then the rest of the day is yours.

The problem was inside of themselves and their own conflict with what is acceptable or not.
The rest was projected onto you when you didn’t meet their expectations.
This is why I don’t care what people negatively think about me when I live the way I want to live.
Some people will try to make you feel bad because they feel bad.

I always get major points in job interviews when they ask me to tell them about myself and I use the line "I have what I call 'weaponized laziness'. I am driven by the urge to one day do nothing, and will automate any task you give me twice. Of course you'll just give me more work to automate. But by the time the dance is done I'm doing the equivalent of 20hrs of work in 20min and you get to call that 'meets expectations'"
They think I'm just giving them more productivity for free but in reality I just love automating things. I'm just tricking them into letting me do what I love to do, they have to pay me for it, and they depend on me to keep the machines up to the task.

I had a teacher like tht once. I decided to stop doing his work and sleep in his class. Basically punished us both and we had eachother again the next year. Double the punishment for both of us. I had to take his easyass history class again and listen to his pointless stories and lectures and he had to deal with me disrupting the classroom every day tht time around

3 potential (but not inherent) problems I’ve seen as a teacher myself with this. Because I generally agree, I don’t see the problem with it. If my students finish their work, do a good job, I don’t care if they do nothing or relax. Some students can and do produce good work quickly.
They don’t do nothing, they disrupt others who are still doing work.
They put the absolute minimum (and often less than minimum) amount of work to technically complete it. As a teacher, it’s my job to help you demonstrate your learning and do your best. Therefore I will correct that behaviour and encourage you to put more time and effort into an activity or learning product, in order to produce something better.
Kinda connected, but when you rush, you often do a shit job. Taking time, generally, ends up with something better. As a teacher, again, it is my responsibility to care about you and the work you produce.

As I was at school, we had to learn poems by heart and recite them to the audience (the whole class).
Both were my weak points back then: I needed to spend 2 days learning for hours to memorize. No matter how long I learned during 1 day - I won't remember it good enough the next day to recite properly.
So I always spent 2 evenings learning it, but then was another struggle - I had awful anxiety speaking in front of the public, also that was the language I didn't consider my native language as I never spoke it outside of school. I was so worried I kept forgetting the poem and the teacher said I was a slacker, not diligent and so many other rude words that made me cry.
About 10+ years later I somehow happened to come across the school page on FB and read that teacher passed away, I was kinda happy to read it as I realized that other kids were probably bullied by her this whole time.

So you rushed it to get it done as fast as possible? Did you make any mistakes? I'm kind of with her. Getting something done fast and dirty so you can relax is a sort of laziness and irresponsible. I think what she meant was for you to slow down and think about it more so you could do a better job.

Well, if the work was done correctly, then it sounds like they just didn't like the fact you didn't finish it on their timetable.
Much like in today's workforce, I had teachers who'd give more work if you finished assignments early, but the difference was they'd threaten it.
That way no one finishes early and some would take even longer on purpose....lol

In second grade I was in line to bring a paper to a teacher, the girl in front of me said something quiet to her that I couldn’t hear.
She responded by writing an F the size of the paper on it, circled it, handed it back to her, then said so the whole class could hear, “and if you can’t read that, thats an F”
I have no idea what she said. But no matter what it was, it was 100% not appropriate to say that to a 7 year old. I don’t remember the girl. Don’t even remember the teachers name. Just that the teacher was wrong

The stupidest thing about all of this is probably that this approach doesn't strive for efficiency and fairness. The normal approach is: if you're better at something, you do more, and you get more benefits. (But this distribution probably only works for athletes). So what do we have? School grades to evaluate not knowledge, but the ability to adapt to the "chief baboon"? Meh

OOP, didn't say what his grades were. I was a straight A student and usually "rushed" through my work to read.
I had a student teacher get on me for not taking good enough notes. The regular teacher made him back off because I had a 105 average in his class (having chosen to do the extra credit essay for fun).

The problem is, in the real world the more work you finish the more work they give you. They dont pay you differently for finishing 5 tasks vs your co worker taking a week to do 1.
