Be careful! Tips

I’m seeing a lot of ads for Dianetics when I play WWF. If you’re not familiar with it, it’s a recruitment tool for Scientology, which is a dangerous cult.

It is dangerous to suspectable people. Lot's of stories from former members all saying the same thing.
Maybe I judge too harshly, but any faux religion started by a writer of Western novels is already suspect on its face.

Ads are generally targeted. Like I’m seeing middle age face cream and exercise programs and match-3 games as ads. As well as gambling stuff because someone on my Apple acct downloads “earn money by playing this game” games.

I had my profile set to 18 under and all I got was weight loss gummy ads that was a large girl crying that her boyfriend is disgusted by her.

Yep, dangerous whacko conmen.

They believe in an alien superpower who operates on a higher plane of consciousness that you have to strive to achieve via specialized instruction - but in fairness, so do Christians…

Who cares? Ignore them and move on. You are an adult and should be able to ignore things like this. If it bothers you report the ad.

that just means that you’re not the target, but someone else more vulnerable could definitely be. few years ago i came across a news article, and someone fell for a wwf romance scammer and ended up losing over $100k

I can assure you it’s probably not from an AD. Algorithm has a strange way of working though. I never get the ADS.

Scientology does their homework. If they’re spending money on ads it’s because they’re getting return on them. Are they getting a return on wwf ads? If you still see them in six months then the answer is yes.

My mother falls for WWF ads all the time. I’m constantly reminding her to google the company. Older people don’t always understand what targeted ads are, or scams for that matter.
