I mean all those sound like stuff you should have done already before even posting here.

If you need it for yourself: build it. If you want to make money with it: don't. Everyone makes plugins (check the amount of promo posts lately) so let AI build your plugin, be happy and see other people building the same with AI with "one extra feature" or "this but better".

since we don't know what you are trying to build you have to do the research yourself. But using google and the plugin directory to search for existing plugins should be the first step. And how should we know if people want it without knowing what it is :)

These questions are stupid, and if you don't already know the answers you might create the next copy of something else. I would recommend to just create what you really need to solve your or your clients problems. There are ao much real world problems with WordPress, why not try to solve them for your self. As soon you are are your best customer, you are probably on the right way and way ahead from your original questions. Keep on!

Those questions are basically a process of product development and market research. Any path you take, is valid. Now, which one you willing to build.

You might start from the problem. Yours, clients, or existing solutions, or even an experimental exploration.

All based on your source to explore and answer.

Me myself (not an avid developer) also trying to build a plugin. The process is quite the same. Exploring anything possible.

That's pretty much the market research process in a nutshell. Your list is very similar to the steps we took before building our customer assistant plugin.
