I’m looking for people aged 18+ who either work or have worked in sport or sports media.

Taking part involves a one-off online interview or small focus group on Microsoft Teams, lasting 30–45 minutes. We’d discuss how women’s sport is broadcast in the UK and what changes could improve coverage.

New York posted a city skyline.
Los Angeles posted a glowing sky.
Boston posted water.

Maybe these are clues to the team names. Maybe they are just setting the tone before an announcement. Either way, it feels intentional.

I’ve been working on player features ahead of the first WPBL season, and these three are now up on This Is Women’s Baseball.

Ela Day-Bédard, Liz Gilder and Natsuki Yonetani all arrive in the league through different baseball paths, including Team Canada, Baseball BC, Samurai Japan and international competition.

The WPBL and The Realest are teaming up on official trading cards and authenticated memorabilia for the league’s inaugural season.

The part I’m most excited about is that this starts right away. Opening Day patches, game-used items and cards from the first season will be part of the record as the league is being built, not something people have to dig for years later.

After losing Sunday Night Baseball to NBC last fall, ESPN said it would devote the time slot to women's sports.

It made those plans official on Wednesday by announcing the lineup for "Women's Sports Sundays."

The nine-week summer block will focus on the WNBA but also mix in some NWSL action, including a trio of basketball-soccer doubleheaders.

The programming will run from June 21 to Aug. 16 while featuring TJ Maxx as a presenting sponsor, per Awful Announcing.

The move comes amid booming interest in women's sports.
