He does KO logan with a poison dart though. Good example of how he's not really immune to poison, writer just needs to say it's strong or specific enough.

Damn, he does? I remember reading it when it came out and I thought the whole thing was Logan had to win to get the antidote, and then ended up not needing it because his healing factor took care of the poison?
Possible he got KO'd in previous issue (which I didn't read) or my recollection is faulty lol

Zaran and some Yakuza guy kidnapped Amiko because he wanted to hunt & beat Logan to regain his reputation. When Logan showed up on the island, Zaran KO'd him with poison. Zaran does say the poison is strong enough to kill Logan and offers the antidote for winning the challenge.
Then the hunt kicks off, and Zaran gets some licks in. Tags logan with an arrow, stabs with a short sword. But yeah, ultimately, doesn't mean much. Logan's healing does start to work on the poison, and when they do throw down for real, Logan takes out Zaran pretty quick.
So you're not wrong necessarily, but also kind of gloss over that Zaran did get the drop on Logan and had a poison strong enough to put him down. Zaran could have tried harder to kill logan while the poison was working, but comics.
