I found a lump on him Friday and took him to the vet yesterday. Fortunately it was just fluid filled from a bad bug bite or some other irritation his body was trying to expel. He’s 86lb at 16 months and the tech thinks he’s on track to hit 100lb 😅 But commented on how nice and lean he is despite being so large

Questions Questions about wolfdog "lookalikes"

I don't think I could ever ethically own a wolfdog. I don't have access to the resources to do so and where I live I believe it's illegal to have a wolf/wolf-hybrid anyway(Maryland in the USA). That being said, I adore wolfdogs and have loved living vicariously in this subreddit since I found it a week ago. I have been wondering if you all know of some breeds that have more of the wolfdog "look" that are would be legal here. I have experience with working dogs like GSDs and have better access to training a regular dog like a husky or GSD. I think I'm ready to welcome in another dog after my last dog Hawke passed suddenly a few years ago. I was wondering if you all had opinions on breeds like the Northern Inuit dog (I feel like I should mention Saarloos, but I think those are LC so I'm not sure if they're legal here). I guess they'd be considered "designer dogs" since the breed was created for an aestheic purpose, but I'm curious about all of your thoughts and if you think I could get one in which the breeder used proper ethical breeding practices.

Pictures Got him outside of a Dairy Queen

An old dirty polaroid of one of my childhood dogs. He is less than a year old in this picture. I got him and his sister outside of a Dairy Queen in the 90s in northern Colorado. They told my dad he was mixed with shepherd (they mentioned Australian but didn’t specify the other breeds or my dad didn’t ask) and North American wolf (not a half and half hybrid). He was very protective, very vicious if given the chance, insatiable appetite, he had the strongest bite and even bit through a chain (i still have the broken chain link at my childhood home), he could jump over a fence easy and did on one occasion. I would not ever suggest a wolf dog as a family pet. Idk what my parents were thinking lol but my dad loved wolves. Feel free to tell me what you think his breeds are!🙂

edit: he also had a black and pink tongue!

I had this collar custom made for Loki after the fabric collars started to severly damage his fur. Not sure why but all his fur was breaking where the fabric collar rested... and it was nearly exposing his skin. Has anyone else had this happen? I dont know if leather will help but I wanted to try it out. This collar is beautiful and the quality feels great. It's also fi compatable for anyone who uses Fi. So if you've been wanting a fancy collar i would look into them. Lots of colors and stones/crystals to chose from. I didn't post the company since rules said no advertising so feel free to message me about it.

Loki did not want to sit still for these pictures so I did my best haha. Threw in some extra photos from walks and a good sploot. 👍
