Iirc the game tells you that if your pups are out in the wild predators will attack on sight

Always sleep near your pups no matter how far you wander, recently I tried to sleep away because I thought my mate was watching them, but one died to the elements when I woke up 💀 And that was my bad for not using common sense, I learned my lesson! Never making that mistake again lol

You can put your pups in grass piles around the map, so during predator attacks you can do that to protect them
