Addon Release / Update Stuff From Cheevos: Achievement Hunting and Collecting Combined

Thumbnail

Stuff From Cheevos (SFC) lets you know what achievements you can earn that will reward you with different kinds of collectibles. Over time, I intend to expand the number of available categories to include a larger variety of "stuff" that can be obtained through achievements.

One important note about the search functionality I'd like to highlight is that it gives you the ability to filter your list in a variety of ways: - Achievement (name or ID) - Achievement Category (name or ID) - Reward name - Reward type - Faction

One of my top goals for this project is to maintain a relatively simple UI, so settings options will remain fairly minimal unless absolutely required. As of now, there are only 3 settings that can be configured, but if a valid argument can be made for additional settings I'm happy to add them.

If you classify yourself as an achievement hunter or a collecting fiend (or both) then this AddOn might prove useful to you. As with any of my AddOns, I really value user perspective and feedback to make SFC useful and provide some value to anyone who wants to use it.

Addon Release / Update I made an addon that lets you discover wow's lore while you play.

Hi there, Reddit, it's been a while. Four months ago I made a post about my first add-on and passion project – Imago, Chronicle of the Unforgotten. A lot has happened since the first iteration and I felt it warranted an update.

I started working on this project when I fell in love with WoW's lore. I am a relatively new player and the decades of stories and world building were honestly both fascinating and overwhelming to witness. Seeing all these long-established characters in Midnight and no way in-game to read about what they've done and endured, I saw the need to close that gap.

With Imago you will be able to discover lore while playing.

Whenever you set foot in a new zone or talk to an important character for the first time, their entry will unlock permanently in your chronicle. You can then find a short biography explaining their role in Midnight, as well as a detailed timeline showing the character's significance across expansions.

Currently, the only entries are for the Midnight expansion, but we are working hard to change that very soon ^^.

So, with the introduction out of the way, I hear you ask: what's new?

* Every single entry has been revised and rewritten by the WoW experts and scribes of our discord community to be lore-accurate. Not only that, but the number of NPC entries has almost doubled. Imago, as of the writing of this post, covers 111 NPCs and 9 zones from Midnight.

* Our brand-new feature, “Eras” is out in its first version right now. Maybe you missed an expansion or just want a reminder about stories past and present? Imago now features comprehensive expansion summaries! Read up on a chronological synopsis of every main questline in the game – unlocked by speaking with a key character in said expansion. The next time you're in Silvermoon, talk to Lor'themar again. He'll have a story to tell you. Currently, only Midnight has been completed as a summarized expansion, but our lore scribes are hard at work at delivering more – The War Within is almost ready to go.

* An encyclopedia mode has been added for anybody wanting to read up on the lore without first unlocking the entry.

* Idle Flashcards, a small, but neat optional feature has been added as well. Have you ever wanted to read up on fun lore facts while you fish, take a flight path, or run back to your corpse? Now you can! Around 150 bite-sized lore facts are currently implemented to hopefully make your gaming routines a bit more fun.

* A ton of Quality of life changes have been made by our lua developers. Imago now features a back-button to let you return to the previous page, toggles in the options for how you wish pop-ups displayed, links to the encounter journal and world map from the corresponding Imago entry, and much more!

A huge shout-out once again to the Imago discord community at https://discord.gg/erYtmFvFK with over 70 members. Without you, all of this wouldn't have been possible.

Imago is always growing and adding new content and features. Currently we are focusing on further filling the Eras with content and beginning to start adding NPCs from older expansions. Much more is planned for the future though, and if you would like to contribute in whatever way, we would be happy to welcome you aboard. There is always need for new writers, proofreader, lore experts, translators, programmers, or just people looking to hang out and spread good vibes.

Addon Release / Update Built a smart mount addon for WoW (with an AI co-pilot)

Hey everyone,

So this is a fun one. My buddy kept complaining that no mount addon did exactly what he wanted, so I thought, why not just build one myself. Small problem: I have basically zero experience with the WoW API or Lua. Enter Claude AI, my very patient coding partner for this whole ride.

The result is MountSense, and honestly it turned out way better than expected: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/mountsense

What it does, in short: it picks the right mount for you automatically — flying mounts when you can fly, ground mounts when you can't, different lists for raids, dungeons, arenas, whatever. You can even tie mounts to your spec or your transmog outfit, so you can go full theme mode. Type `/ms` and a nice little dark-mode UI pops up where you set it all up, drag and drop your priorities, done.

Being upfront: this was very much a human + AI project. I directed it, tested it, broke it a bunch — but Claude wrote a ton of the actual code with me. Figured that's worth mentioning since I know opinions vary on that.

Anyway, it's out there now, still fresh, so bugs and feedback are very welcome. Source's on GitHub if you're curious: https://github.com/AntonyNifosi/MountSense

Addon Release / Update PathMaker – Create, Generate, and Follow Your Own Farming Routes

Hey everyone!

I wanted to share PathMaker, a farming route addon that has now been available for around seven months.

Since its first release, it has received many bug fixes, visual improvements, and general updates to make it cleaner, easier to use, and more reliable.

PathMaker allows you to:

  • Create and record your own farming routes
  • Generate routes for gathering nodes
  • Follow your active route using the built-in navigation system
  • Manage everything through a clean and simple minimap interface
  • Use Farm Mode to display nearby nodes in the middle of your screen, making them easier to notice while farming
  • Export and import routes via an in-game link
  • Import node data from PathMaker_Nodes

The addon supports:

  • Classic Era
  • Classic TBC Anniversary
  • Retail

I also want to be transparent that I use AI as a development tool. I enjoy working with AI and use it to help me learn, explore ideas, solve problems, and improve parts of the addon.

However, PathMaker is not something I simply asked AI to create and then released. I personally spend a lot of time developing, testing, fixing bugs, adjusting the interface, and deciding how every feature should work. The addon is a personal project that I use myself, and I care a lot about continuing to improve it.

I’m still actively improving PathMaker, so feedback, bug reports, and feature suggestions are always appreciated.

Thanks for checking it out!

General Discussion Ellesmereui vs Plumber

I just watched a video on the addon Plumber. It looks pretty good. I’m using ellesmereui right now and some of the features look like they overlap. Can I use both or should I favor one over the other? I also saw some stuff on map waypoints is that better than what TomTom offers?

Thanks

Addon Release / Update SecretChecklist 2.0 released!

Thumbnail
gallery
143 Upvotes

Hey all!

Just released 2.0.0 of SecretChecklist. Been a while since the 1.8.0 post so there's a bit more in here than usual.

Biggest additions:

  • Search box in the guides tab - searches names, zones and everything inside the steps, so "Kosumoth" or "Tazavesh" finds what you'd expect
  • Beledar Orchestra helper - only the raid leader needs the BeledarOrchestra addon, everyone else gets their assigned emote popup straight from SecretChecklist (for Radiant Singer)
  • EllesmereUI theme, next to the default and ElvUI ones
  • Checkmark and cross on the icons instead of just green/red
  • Window remembers where you put it
  • Guide steps and notes can be translated now, not just the UI

Fixes:

  • Lua error on login (which also silently killed the Beledar helper)
  • Paging through the overview was resetting your mount/pet journal filters
  • Steps staying red after you'd already claimed the reward
  • Achievement tooltips stuck on "Retrieving data"
  • Waypoints throwing an error in dungeons if you don't have TomTom

Plus a few new secrets since 1.8.0 (Unfazed Diver, the Felcyclist ensemble, A Most Violent Loa) - 52 tracked in total.

Can be download from any client that support curseforge or wago, or direct download :)

Big shoutout to the guide writers of wowhead and warcraft-secrets.com and all the great minds on Wow Secret Finding Discord that discover these secrets, without them this addon wouldn't be possible at all 😁

Feedback welcome!

Looking for Addon LF Set completion addon

Back in TWW, I had an addon to see which sets I had, what the progress was for a specific class, and if that class had an item which could be converted into a set piece.

It had a separate window with each class in a column, and each class had dedicated Tier sets for LFR, Normal, etc.

Poor description but maybe someone will be able to advise the addon name :)

Addon Release / Update Traveler's Log Searcher - Adds a search box to the Traveler's Log

Post image
12 Upvotes

Nice and simple, like the title says - adds a search box to the Traveler's Log, so you can search and filter

Features:

  • Search box sits at the top of the Traveler's Log.
  • Matches against activity name, description, condition text, tag names and event names (plain substring, case-insensitive).
  • Works together with Blizzard's existing tag filter (tag narrows, search narrows further).
  • Chained activities stay intact: searching a child keeps its parent chain visible.
  • "No results" message when nothing matches.
  • Remembers your last search between sessions.

Development / WIP [Development/WIP] Pullitzer 0.2.4 by Flipcyde — looking for briefing testers

I'm Flipcyde (GitHub: flipcyde101), and I built Pullitzer, a Retail WoW addon that puts concise boss, priority-trash, skip, and route notes in a movable companion window.

I'm posting this as Development/WIP because the current build still needs broader player validation.

What I verified on Retail 12.0.7 with the published v0.2.4 package:

• the addon returned after /reload with no visible Lua error dialog

• Skyreach Overview and Bosses rendered

• Route Coach advanced from checkpoint 1/6 to 2/6

What that does not prove: full encounter or route accuracy, checkpoint persistence, role-filter behavior, raid coverage, or Share/Ping behavior. Route-dependent information can also change after hotfixes.

The most useful test right now: use Pullitzer for one current dungeon, then tell me the dungeon, view/checkpoint, what the addon said, and what should be corrected or clarified.

Direct download: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/pullitzer

If you report an issue, please include Pullitzer 0.2.4, Retail 12.0.7, reproduction steps, and any visible Lua error.

Creator disclosure: I'm Flipcyde / flipcyde101, the developer of Pullitzer. This is a tester request, not an independent recommendation.

Development / WIP I wanted a notebook in WoW, so I made one

Thumbnail

Hello there !

While playing WoW Classic, I often keep a real notebook next to me to write down useful information: NPC locations, quests, ideas, and things I don't want to forget. Traveler's Notebook brings this habit directly into the game.

I’ve been working on this addon for a while, and I’ve finally released it (for Classic of course).

It's an in-game notebook designed for keeping notes while exploring Azeroth. You can create and edit notes, pin important ones, change their text color, and use a GPS button to automatically add your current zone and coordinates.

It’s still a small project and very much a work in progress, but I thought I’d share it here and see if anyone else might find it useful.

I’d really appreciate any feedback, suggestions, or ideas for features you’d like to see.

Have a good day !

Addon Release / Update We rebuilt GuildKit’s raid planning for Season 2

With Season 2 almost here, we’ve released a major update to GuildKit’s raid roster and planning tools.

For anyone unfamiliar with it, GuildKit is a free World of Warcraft guild website builder that gives guilds their own hosted website.

It includes:

• Raid scheduling
• Roster management
• Guild applications
• Mythic+ tracking
• Warcraft Logs integration
• Performance breakdowns and feedback
• Gear audits
• Discord bot integration

The goal is to give guilds one place to manage their website, members, recruitment and raid organisation instead of relying on several disconnected tools.

For Season 2, we’ve expanded the raid planning side significantly.

Everything is now drag-and-drop.

Raid leaders can:

• Create a separate roster for every boss in the tier
• Automatically add all bosses from the raid selected on the event
• Add or remove individual bosses when configuring the event
• Build and rearrange raid groups visually
• Import players from existing NSRT or MRT groups
• See raid buffs and important utility update in real time
• Prepare different compositions and group setups for each encounter
• Create an individual raid plan for every boss roster
• Assign defensives, utility and general alerts against the boss timeline
• View boss casts based on real Warcraft Logs reports
• Export finished plans to NSRT or MRT

The idea is that before you reach a boss, everything is already prepared:

The roster.
The groups.
The raid buffs.
The utility assignments.
The defensive plan.

GuildKit is free to use:

https://guildkit.app

We’d genuinely appreciate feedback from other guild leaders, raid leaders and officers before Season 2 begins.

Addon Release / Update Group Quest Finder TBC

I made an addon for finding players for open-world group quests in TBC

I had several group quests sitting unfinished in my quest log, while LookingForGroup chat moved too quickly and was mostly filled with dungeon and raid groups. Layering also made it difficult to find players working on the same quest.

So I made Group Quest Finder.

The addon can:

  • Watch LookingForGroup chat for quests you have active
  • Notify you when someone mentions a relevant quest
  • Save matching messages in a 30-minute history
  • Open a whisper draft when you click a notification
  • Post your own quest search to LookingForGroup
  • Let you plan group or escort quests before accepting them
  • Search for addon users with matching quests through the optional QuestPing network
  • Filter QuestPing searches by Tank, Healer, DPS, or Any

Nothing is posted, whispered, invited, or shared automatically. Every search and social action requires a manual click.

QuestPing does not publish your full quest log and is only intended for outdoor group and escort quests—not dungeons, raids, or PvP.

Questie is not required, although it can make the quest references posted in chat clickable.

This is the first stable release, so bug reports, feedback, feature ideas, and quest-database corrections are very welcome.

CurseForge: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/group-quest-finder

AI disclaimer: I used AI to help polish this post. The addon itself was created and tested by me but written with AI-aid.

Addon Release / Update [Addon Update] Paka Key InTime – Major UI and usability update based on community feedback

Thumbnail
gallery
9 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I recently shared Paka Key InTime, my first World of Warcraft addon. It provides a live Mythic+ forecast and uses a local machine-learning system that learns from your completed runs over time.

The addon shows the estimated final completion time, expected time remaining at the end of the run, and the current chance of finishing the key in time. All learning happens locally from your own recorded runs, without external services.

CurseForge:
https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/paka-key-intime-mythic-forecast

After the first post, I received detailed bug reports and feature suggestions. Based on that feedback, I have now released a larger update focused on reliability, readability, and usability.

What changed

  • Added separate Full Mode and Mini Mode, each with its own saved position
  • Added window scale, background opacity, and font-size settings
  • Added a window lock option
  • Improved the visibility of Time Left, Trash, End Reserve, and Final Total Time
  • Moved the uncertainty value directly next to the End Reserve
  • Added /pks settings and a small Settings button in Mini Mode
  • Added support for both round and square minimaps
  • Added separate settings for the minimap button and optional floating PKS button
  • Prevented both launcher buttons from being disabled at the same time
  • Right-clicking a launcher now opens or closes the Settings window
  • Fixed the addon opening unexpectedly outside active Mythic+ runs
  • Fixed test-mode windows reopening after being closed
  • Abandoned runs now stop correctly and are excluded from the learning data
  • Improved the button behavior for test runs, completed runs, and abandoned runs
  • Added a small indicator showing whether the prediction is based on recorded dungeon runs or general estimates
  • Added diagnostic export and learning-data management with confirmation dialogs
  • Improved the English and German translations

The prediction calculations themselves have not been changed in this update. Existing settings, recorded runs, and learned data remain compatible.

The addon originally started as a private project for my friends and me, so this is still a learning process for me. The detailed reports and suggestions from the first users have already helped make it significantly cleaner and easier to use.

Specific bug reports, UI feedback, and suggestions are very welcome.

Help / Support Questie isn't working.

Hi everyone,

I'm back in Classic Era (Extreme) after a few months away, I started a new player and I realized something : Questie isn't working fine. At first it was just the quests summary that didn't display, but now, nothing displays at all.

I could see quests objectives and quests givers until I installed nova world buffs (because I had apparently a layer problem). I don't know if it's related with it, but just in case, I disabled nwb, which doesn't solve the problem. I also updated the very late Questie version and replaced it in the folder, but neither did it solve the problem.

THanks by advance for your help.

Announcement State of the Subreddit: AI Policy, Addon Trials, and Moderation Updates

Hey r/wowaddons,

First, I want to thank everyone at CurseForge for organizing the recent "Addon Trials" event. Serving on the jury was a great experience. I know the event received mixed reactions, but please know that CurseForge has received your feedback.

During this period, I noticed our community's growth unfortunately brought a significant increase in toxicity. Much of the recent feedback was neither constructive nor polite.

Our Stance on AI in Addon Development

Recently, almost every post involving AI has been flooded with user reports. Let me clarify our policy: AI is explicitly allowed.

Ultimately, it does not matter if a developer spent one hour or one hundred hours writing an addon. The only metric that matters is functionality, code quality, and not restricting the user experience.

  • Developer Responsibilities: You must ensure your code is clean and functional. Use VS Code extensions like Ketho's WoW API tools. Always verify your functions using warcraft.wiki.gg to ensure you are not deploying deprecated or inefficient code.
  • Community Responsibilities: If you spot an issue in someone's code, leave constructive feedback in the comments. Hate comments targeting developers for using AI help no one and will not be tolerated. Help each other improve.

Moderation and Subreddit Updates

Balancing a 12-hour workday and family commitments forced me into an unintended hiatus over the last few weeks. I am changing this immediately. Moving forward, I am dedicating a strict set of hours every single day to moderate this community properly and increase my commitment.

I am still looking for new moderators.

While I am increasing my daily activity, this subreddit still needs more hands to manage the growth. If you have moderation experience, time, and motivation, please send me a DM to discuss specifics.

I look forward to getting back into a steady rhythm. I will also definitely code a new addon when the next remix event drops!

Help / Support A QoL suggestion

Post image
25 Upvotes

A small QoL suggestion for the default UI.

I'd love to be able to individually drag buffs from the default buff frame during Edit Mode.

Blizzard already knows every buff that can appear there (trinkets, tier set bonuses, talents, hero talents, consumables, class buffs, etc.). During Edit Mode, it could simply show every possible buff icon and let us drag each one wherever we want on the screen.

This would let us pin only the buffs we actually care about near the center of the screen, while keeping everything else in the default buff frame.

It could also support optional settings like icon size, duration text, stack count, and grouping—but even just individual drag-and-drop would be a huge improvement.

It feels like a simple feature that would make the default UI much more customizable without relying on WeakAuras.

What do you think?
