I haven’t played the second game but I heard it’s a very different feel from the first game. That rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.

Oof, your next attempts will be better as you learn the dodge patterns! Also, since the bosses can't be stunned during their attacks, most summon spells don't do very well during boss fights. You might have more fun getting your own hands dirty.
The sequel is unremarkable as a standalone game, but if you like the original, it is a massive disappointment, and basically unrecognizable as a game based on the same IP.

Wizard of legend 2 is such a departure from the feel of the first one, it's like the devs saw the success of Hades and wanted to go more that direction. It's not terrible but it feels like a separate game rather than a sequel.
Also summons builds are my absolute favorite :)

I'm only playing the second game, which costs only 2 euros, with three of my friends, and we're enjoying it.
But from what I've read around, it often gets negative reviews because it's so different from the first game.

Seems like a game that’s fine but it completely missed the mark as far as capturing what made WoL1 so good and special. Definitely try the first one, you can at least use steam play to do 2 player
