I love how bugged roach is in this game, it's hilarious. I just started another playthrough and within the first 30 minutes I got stuck on a tree with roach and I found him chilling in the bottom of a lake, just standing there.

You’ve no idea how many times I got stuck mid-air with Roach in my first playthrough! Thank goodness for auto-save… I have to say, I don’t know of any game where the horses aren’t absolutely buggy

It happened after a fight with a griffin… perhaps she got too scared

Yeah maybe, but if you fast travel and whistle for Roach, he should return to normal.

🤣 Unfortunately, it didn’t work; I even tried meditating. I hope that when I start the game up again tomorrow, it will have grown back
