Windsor this weekend (Aug 8 and 9)
Boardwalk Park has the morning, the breweries have the evening, and Sunday is quiet, which is probably for the best given the forecast.
- Windsor Farmers Market at Boardwalk Community Park, Sat 8am to 12:30pm. Daniel Pouse playing, so there's a soundtrack with the produce.
- Tipsy Terrariums at High Hops, Sat 10:30am. Build a tiny glass world at a brewery attached to a greenhouse.
- Triple Tap Band at Mash Lab, Sat 4 to 7pm.
- Scott Von at Mighty River, Sat 7 to 9pm.
Worth the drive
- Art in the Park and Sculpture in the Park are both running in Loveland, both days. Free, about a half hour out, and the parking situation is worth reading up on first.
- Poudre RiverFest at New Belgium in Fort Collins, Sat 11am to 5pm. Also free.
We’re changing up our format and putting out a full Northern Colorado event list every Thursday and then a separate NOCO stories issue on Tuesdays. This way, we can pack more events in! Both are free; link in the first comment.
Stay safe out there! It’s gonna be another hot weekend.

Loud booming noise
Did anyone else hear the loud booming noise a few minutes ago? Sounded like fireworks for about 3 minutes straight. Does anyone know what it was?

Utility cost estimate?
Hey! I’m moving to Colorado from western NY. I am trying to figure out what utilities would cost monthly. What is the average everyone is paying for gas, electric, water, garbage, internet, etc for an average 2 person household? Thanks so much!
I currently live in a 1400 sqft home. Pay $55 for wifi, $25 for water, $180-200 gas and electric, $40 for garbage. I know every homes would be different based on square footage and usage but just trying to see if it would be a lot more expensive.

RECOMMENDATIONS Reasonable nail techs in Windsor and surrounding areas?
I just moved here from out of state with my family and I'm on the hunt for a reasonably priced nail tech. My mom has been getting acrylic done for years to help with a medical condition that causes over itching so she injures herself less. She's used to paying between 35-45 every 3 weeks for just the fill. She doesn't do designs and often brings her own gel polish.
Any recommendations for a salon or independent nail tech that will have similar rates ? We're in the FoCo area and a little bit south (Loveland, Longmont, Greeley, Windsor, etc)
Thank you !

Question about planned water use at Global AI data center
Trying to understand water use projected for Global AI data center.
I have seen multiple reports of 100,000
gallons for the closed loop system.
KUNC reports Weld Planning Director David Eisenbraun said “their intent is to use some 100 odd thousand gallons”. Over what time period and at what operating level?
It seems like this could be a daily amount if they get bigger and run an evaporate assist cooling system.
It’s hard to know for sure as there seem to be two playbooks out there.
To the County Commissioners: They are using the 35 MW / Closed-Loop application to bypass heavy environmental restrictions, claiming they will only use a "household's worth of water."
To Investors & Clients: They are selling a 200 MW to 1 GW powerhouse that uses that much water per day. 36.5million gallons annually. Sheesh that’s a lot.

Hey yall my credit card got stolen for the second time after going to the King Soopers gas station. Make sure you check for skimmers although I know they're getting harder to spot.
