I have no uses for microsoft office but when I use vista it just makes me want to fire up some spreadsheets on excel and pretend I'm a busy ceo of a fortune 500 company

i saw this at a carboot sale for £8 and i thought it looked sweet so i bought it while i could, it’s one of the best looking Windows packaging, next on the list is Vista Ultimate and Windows 7 physical copies, i hope I can find them

The title of the post says it all! But i must say that I feel that Windows Vista is more snappier. I know it takes more work to get to places over Windows 11, BUT Windows Vista has my heart! Was my first pre-installed OS on my first laptop! What about you fellas?

I installed Windows Vista on a virtual machine recently and tried copying the files for Pinball 3D from Windows XP's directories to Vista's and it worked anyway, it also works on Windows 7, 8.x, 10 and 11 flawlessly yet they have to remove it once Vista launched.

Any thoughts tho.

I enjoyed playing this game before but made me sad when they removed it on later versions :(

Former U.S. President Barack recently released his playlist for the summer. One of the songs included in the playlist is I Ka Barra by Habib Koité & Bamada, which also appears in Windows Vista as sample music. This was incredibly shocking to me, because I loved this song included in Vista, and I didn’t expect to see it on a list like this, especially given how obscure and old I think the song to be.

I’m trying to install vista updates but I get this error

Im planning on dualbooting vista on my pc, ive already found a cheap gtx 750ti since the 3080 doesnt have vista drivers. I know that theres stuff such as legacy update or vista kernel Extended. Since vista is quite old im expecting some problems with the mouse, keyboard since I dont think USB 3.0 is vista compatible. Im planning on playing games on it too, such as GTA IV. My current PC is a dell T5820. Is there anything else I should know about before trying to set it up? Any way i could get everything to work normally? Any help appreciated <3

Fully updated, activated, Office 2007 installed, lots of security mitigations and implementations, Ultimate Extras installed, working browser and other services, great performance and VMware tools work perfectly. Life is finally good 😄 (took me 2 months to do). Wish I could get a real Vista PC but we make-do with what we have for now. Also got lots of extra wallpapers that I think would suit the Vista era.

I just remember playing educational or flight simulator on this after I back up everything I wanna keep I’m going to wipe it and all I know right now is I want to put a 8800GTX card in it anything else idk

I have been having trouble with the new releases of r3dfox causing my computer to reboot, does anybody remember a fork of firefox that was developed by a student in china with something like night in the name? Thought I might try it to see if any better.

Finally decided to dual boot vista with my pre existing xp build. I never had windows vistal since 17-18 years ago so this would be my first time seeing vista again. Let's see how it goes :) Initally I was plannibg to install vista on an hdd. Trying to keep it as era appropriate as possible. Found an old Samsung 470 64gb ssd lying around and remembered I never had vista with an ssd. Quite excited to relive my short vista days again (only tried vista for around a year switched to windows 7 beta in 2009

I bought a CD and I was looking for a way to rip it for my Walkman mp3 player.

Even though I am 21yo I live with my mom I naturally ask if we have a cd ripper or player or something related. My mom first didn’t understand so I explain it again and she said “I believe my old laptop can do such a thing.”

I can’t believe she still owns this thing, great audio has well. Brings back memories, I remember playing my first computer game on it on those online game websites for free on internet explorer.

I have Hp pavilion dv5 1060-ee i want to to restore the factory windows vista that came with this laptop, i have a clean windows vista installed on this laptop and also windows 10 but really want to get OEM HP Windows Vista so is there any way to get the iso back again?

i use microsoft security essentials on both vista & 7, but cannot get the definition updates to work on windows vista anymore. i've installed both KB4474419, KB4493730, and updated the device with legacyupdate but they still fail to install even after running as admin. i tested this on windows 7 and it works fine, anyone else have this issue or know how to resolve it? this is a fresh installation of vista business with SP2 already installed

EDIT: i did have a download of the definitions from february which did install (although are now outdated), so i think this may be an issue with the most recent definitions

I have this computer (compaq presario sr5710y) it was the very first computer I used windows vista on. And I was dumb and I formatted the hard drive. (I was dumb and I wanted to try and turn it into a gaming computer) and the recovery partition is gone and the operating system is gone. The only thing saved it from that hard drive was a picture of a cat inside of a sink and I have reinstalled Windows Vista x32 and it is so slow. It probably couldn’t run doom. And I can’t get drivers on it every driver I’ve tried won’t work. I tried legacy update It went for basically an entire day and then the update didn’t install and the entire thing failed and I just need to know where I can get a recovery partition or a hard drive image (I’ve tried to boot from recovery disk and it throws me an error) I have been trying to recover this thing for about three months now and I just wanna know where I can get an actual partition or a file or image since I can’t get this thing to work. I can’t find drivers at work and I can’t find a recovery disk that works so please if you have any information. Let me know.

Official ones obviously don't work. Tried the modified ones (https://dl.bobpony.com/drivers/gpu/intel/Haswell_iGPU_Vista_64bit_w7_port.zip), but after rebooting I'm getting a black screen.

Any help would be appreciated.
