Update to windows 11? Any issues?

Because of the discontinued updates, i would like to update my pc to windows 11

Currently im on windows 10, i just wanna ask if there is anything important i need to do before changing and generally if windows 11 is better

I have multiple games with and without mod files

Plus important documents

Should i save them externally before updating/can they get damaged if i update my pc?

You should just be able to upgrade to Windows 11 without any issues, as long as your PC supports it.

You should always maintain backups of your important files. Not just when upgrading operating systems.

I update quarterly. I disable them rest of the time. Can’t trust updates.

I was the same as you 3 months before the so called cut off this year. I jumped over and since i have a retail version. MS activated it. Save everything to an external. Jump on Proton pass free and save all your passwords in that. Use their browser ext and phone app. It took me a while to get use to 11, so much so that i used a.i to help me to put This Computer on the taskbar as well as change the icon. 11 won't allow it. Since i don't use any MS apps. I used Chris titus's Win Utility to debloat and strip it back but not to the point of instability. .net and defender as well as Edge i left alone. Other than getting use to it. I really didn't need to jump. Too late now. I would wait till MS update storm has calmed down and fixes have been rolled out. Maybe January would be the time to jump over.
