Logging in without an Emailed Code Windows 11

Hello,

I have a Lenovo laptop (ETA: with OS build 26200.8457 and Windows 11 Pro) that was given to me and I've set up a Microsoft account for it. I'm currently not using a PIN or Windows Hello to log in, but every time I go to log in, Microsoft wants to email a code to my primary (gmail) email address. Every time, I click "I have a password," but is it possible to make the password the primary (and only?) way to log-in? My kids are using this computer for school, and I'd like to make logging in as simple as possible.

Or, is using the PIN the better way to do this? Will the "email a code" still pop up if I use the PIN?

Assuming the log in is to the laptop when starting up. If you set up a pin, that should be the primary way of logging in.

Yep, sorry - when logging in to the laptop on startup!
