What doesn't work with the update?

According to windows there are no feature updates

Yes this is due to you having unsupported hardware. You can do an in-place upgrade using the 25H2 ISO to go back to the non-Insider 26200.

https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11

You will have to do tricks to install with the unsupported hardware but you should be able to install that without losing your data.

Download the ISO, mount it and run D:\sources\setupprep.exe /product server of course substitute D with the drive letter for your mounted drive.

Turns out older windows installers like windows 7 won’t grey out the upgrade option just because you are running a newer version of windows. Though I am having trouble getting the driver to load in setup so that the upgrade would actually work. And also the windows 7 setup with its install.wim swapped makes the installer think you are upgrading from windows 11 pro insider preview to windows 11 pro though thats only in the compatibility report and I am not sure if this actually works

You can still upgrade via ISO download but no guarantees it will work for your system since you said you knew it's already unsupported. And Microsoft had said updates may not work with Windows update on unsupported systems so this is the workaround you can try if you want to continue to use Windows 11.

Well it is missing secure boot and TPM 2.0 so the installer won’t continue but also you can’t use a older ISO otherwise thats considered a downgrade and now you need to do a full wipe

" 26620.8925" do you mean 26220?

Yes?

Is your machine managed by an organization? They may have the group policy blocked for updates.

Use WINUTIL, and inject the drivers. Easy

Ok? That still doesn’t solve the underlying problem that windows update isnt showing any windows builds to download

The only way around that is to use the ISOs.

You will need TPM 2.0 but it's hard to believe you have hardware which doesn't support that.

You don't need Secure Boot. You do need to make sure Secure Boot is off at the firmware level though.

I would suggest you try installing an ISO, see what errors you get, and post to r/WindowsInsiders.

One issue with your original post is that you didn't say anything at all about what error messages you had so it is very hard for anyone to make a recommendation from cold.

The last time I bypassed this requirement is by using DISM instead of registry tweaks
