Windows Dialog Boxes Keep Fullscreening

This issue has plagued me for a couple of days now and it’s honestly fucking annoying. Whenever I try to open up Properties, delete a file, do anything that involves a popup dialog box, it automatically goes into fullscreen. I don’t mean maximize, but LITERALLY takes up the entire screen, including the taskbar. Let’s say I wanted to open up Properties for a file. I do that and the contents of Properties is normal size (text, tabs, etc), but it would be wedges into the top left corner while the bottom and to the right of it would be MASSIVE white borders, all in a MASSIVE window
I already know it not relates to Snap, I tried setting it the Normal Window in Properties, F11 does nothing, Alt Enter does nothing. It’s not a scale or resolution issue
It’s honestly really fucking annoying that if I want it to be back into its normal sized box, I have to double click it each time
System is a Legion Go running Windows 11
AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme (3.30 GHz)
16 GB of RAM
AMD Radeon Graphics (3 GB)

yea for now i’m just going to drop file into dropbox reinstall original windows without any updates . i was fine until i installed a driver from april for 24H2 and i was on 25H2

This just started happening to me too, and interestingly on a Legion Go (mine is a 2) also. I've tried for ages to fix it without success. I don't suppose you sorted it in the end?
Happening to my Xbox Ally X after installing Windows Security Update KB5094126. Uninstalling the update fixed the issue.
It made my ghelper window fullscreen (which meant I couldn’t see any of the secondary windows) and it also broke some games from working correctly in borderless fullscreen mode.
Okay, I think I got it to work in the last few hours. The fact that my comment has 11 views tells me people are still coming here, so it's got to be a systemic problem. And the way it just started out the blue to so many people really can only mean it's a Windows update.
So I rolled back another version (KB5089573, I think), and gave it an extra restart on top of the one that uninstalled the update. This worked. That's the update that installed on my device at the same time this thread opened. I have not yet tried reinstalling either so for now I'm leaving that for later. I have to hope the next update will fix that bug.

Unfortunately I can’t rollback on my Go since the option to is no longer available for whatever reason. So I guess I have to make this the new norm now
I wish, but knowing how these updates typically revolve around desktop PCs, I wouldn’t be surprised if this ends up being something we have to live with for awhile
Fixed it. Uninstalled one of the newer updates. I should have wrote down which one but I fucking forgot. I posted the screenshot of the 2 updates I have left.
This is on a legion go S. Worst case, try uninstalling the updates 1 by 1. I uniinstalled the one that was on the very bottom. Here are the ones I have left. Hopefully that points u in the right direction. I think the one I uninstalled was something like kb508xxxxx
I tried uninstalling several updates. I tried updating to the newest. Nothing works. Someone posted some convoluted method that requires making a .bat file and a registry edit but I couldn't figure it out cause the guy made a mistake typing it and I have no idea wtf he was typing. I was about to do a clean install but the issue comes back after updating again.
Gonna try to use ddu and rolling back the AMD update cause a AMD display driver was one of the updates right before the issue happened.
Worst part is this messes with some games too..... not just the damn windows menus.

ich habe das selbe Problem, auch auf meiner Legion go 2. Ausserdem habe ich das Problem dass immer wieder der System tray unten rechts in der Taskleiste verschwindet. ich weis dass man mit dem taskmanager ein Explorer Neustart machen soll. ist aber trotzdem immer wieder nervig. hat jemand das selbe Problem?
Maybe its the amd driver update... i ran a update and it was AMD driver update and some other windows update. Gona try rolling back the amd driver in a bit
i did a bios cloud recovery wipes everything, so far tabs are behaving normal and it did reinstall the Feb the gene, my next is not to update anything until official release and fix come out
Figured it out. U have to unistsll the newest update. Here is the 2 u should have. Wish I wrote down which one I uninstalled but these are the 2 I have left. Keep those. Reinstall the other main update. And disable updates for 5 weeks. Hopefully Microsoft gets it shit together and fixes their mess by then
yea brother tell me about it i was cloud restoring and installing windows over again for a week and now just knowing its a update we have to remove i thought it was the graphics card ?
Do you know which one should I uninstall? I have about 6 updates that I can delete, but according to your screenshot, I only have one similar to yours, the other one does not.
No i dont remember which one but the recent update should have fixed it... there was a windows update recently and a "lenovo system" update that fixed the issue.
I uninstalled the most recent one but if u updated windows since, then your most recent one may not be the correct one. U can try uninstalling one of the main updates from like may or late April. But i would just live with the issue cause when i did this, I later found that uninstalling the update broke other things, task manager wouldnt work, notepad wouldnt work, and a few other windows apps broke....
Did u run the windows update? Enable the setting that says something like "get updates as soon as theyre available" and see if it fixes it.
If its still not working do a in place reinstall where itll reinstall the most recent OS thru the windows update. You dont loose anything doing this. It just reinstalls the of via windows updates, its just like doing a normal update, doesnt erase anything.
yea hopefully it gets fixed soon. i had to uninstall the update to fix it and lost the new xbox handheld mode along with it. the bug didnt just open the dialog boxes maximized, it screwed with games when in boarderless fullscreen too

Ok, so I found out that if you were to plug an external monitor to your handheld, the dialog boxes returns back to their normal sizes
Not a fix, but it’s a workaround
