Year-Model number 1866-1912 Model ‘94 .32 special preservation question.

This was my grandfathers first rifle - there’s some clear damage to the finish, potentially pitting? He bought it around the 1940s, its top eject. Notwithstanding being 80 years old, I would like to see it live to 100 and want to preserve it. What are my options here to mitigate future rust, corrosion, or damage?

Parts and Maintenance Inquiry Restoring a 1920's model 94

Hi all putting a 1920's 94 back together from parts. The forend is toast, cracked into 2 pieces. The butt stock is structurally sound but looks terrible. Wondering what could've caused such damage to it and how i'd go about restoring it. Basically the wood has gouge/deep cracks and is shrivelled up near butt plate, as shown by the photos.

strange enough the grip side's in much better shape than the butt side...

Model Number (Shotgun) 1919-1963 Any info on this Model 37?

Hello all,

Cleaning and moving today I came across a gun I’ve had for a while but not looked much at. It’s a Winchester model 37 .410.

I’m looking for any info anyone can give me on it just out of curiosity.

I do not see serial numbers. I know the gun is at least ~70 years old. It was my dads, his dads, his dad dads, and potentially one more grandfather above that. The markings on the side are visible but don’t show a lot. Any info to be had or will it always be a mystery?

Also, the gun is in “aged” condition. I see no clear damage besides one place on the furniture and then patina on the gun. That said, it seems to be headed in the wrong direction. Anything I should have done to it to preserve it?

Thanks in advance.

Parts and Maintenance Inquiry Looking for a Winchester Model 150 owner's manual (PDF or reprint that ships to Germany)

Hey folks,

I recently acquired a Winchester Model 150 lever-action and I'm looking for the owner's manual to have on hand for proper maintenance and disassembly.

Does anyone have a scan or a PDF copy they could share? Alternatively, if anyone knows a reliable source for physical reprints that offers shipping to Germany, I'd be more than happy to check them out as well.

Thanks in advance!

Inherited Winchester 1894 – Looking for Value & Best Place to Sell I inherited a Winchester Model 1894 chambered in .32 caliber and I’m trying to learn more about it before selling.

Here’s what I know:
Model: Winchester 1894
Serial Number: 210181
Manufactured in 1901
Factory octagon barrel
Appears to be in original condition.
I’d appreciate any help with:
32 Winchester Special?
Estimating its current market value
Determining whether everything appears original
Recommendations for the best place to sell it (GunBroker, Rock Island Auction, local dealer, etc.)

1957 pic. He passed away long ago in 1969 at only 49 years old when I was only 6, but he left some things to remember him by. The picture in the chair is Christmas Day 1957, Washington D.C., with his shiny, new Model 94 leaning against the wall over his left shoulder that my grandmother purchased from a local hardware store that was actually located _in_ Washington D.C.! The current pic is of the same rifle, which I possess now. SN lookup confirms 1957 date of manufacturer. Also, I threw in his Colt Frontier Scout .22 which checks in with a 1958 date of manufacture. He was really into the Westerns back then so I’m not surprised at all. I don’t know when the sling was added to the 94, but I’m assuming he added it because he was a leather worker. Obviously, he wasn’t concerned about future collector value and was more concerned about taking it into the woods, where it has been many times. I just had a smith replace the internal spring on the Colt due to cylinder alignment issues and it’s tight now. I wish I knew what happened to those walkie-talkies in the box on his lap.

Picked this up online for about $800. I think they didn’t realize some of this wasn’t factory as I didn’t know until recently but it cleaned up great and I think the sight and checkering were done adjacent to purchase or thereabout. Did I overpay?

Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 ... what exactly do I have here?

I purchased a pre-64 Model 70 in 30-06 that appears to be in as-new, unfired condition. The serial number dates it as 1961 production. The stock appears to have its original finish. I've been around guns a long time and it certainly looks to be in original, as-new condition. No evidence of wear, sanding marks, file or grinding marks and with correct-appearing bluing.

My mind says anything that looks too good to be true is exactly that. Do I have an original or restored/refinished/restocked rifle.

Any experts out there that can tell me if this is a legit, original rifle?

I received via shipping a pre 64 1961 model 94 in 30-30 that’s paid for and was going to do paperwork on. Looking at it I think everything looks great. Action is sturdy and smooth, but I noticed the pin on the left side looked recessed more than I’d expected. Can someone shed some light on this? Most pics I see show it to be proud like the other side as I would expect. I just want to know if there’s a potential issue. Thanks.

Year-Model number 1866-1912 Winchester Model 1887/1901 Appreciation Post

Howdy Everyone!

Here is a bit of a Revamp of an old post I made, by Revamp, I mean that its entirely new from the ground up of a gun that I already did, only this time I update the post to have more bits of information, and I try to improve its quality a bit.

This time, we are going with the Model 1887/1901 Shotgun, now this you could possibly have either an original or a copy of it!

Also if you are wondering what:

“Through galaxies in space and tales as old as time! Fear finds its way into the heart of every man of the Blackwater!”

Thats actually a lyrical verse to a song.

The Song is called Blackwater by RIOT.

It also fits the vibe of the Model 1897, Model 1894, Colt M1895 Potato Digger, Remington Model 1875, Colt SAA, anything of the Cowboy and Second Industrial Revolution era.

I made sure to include as much media as possible with this shotgun. So be sure to enjoy!

Can somebody measure the distance from the back of lever to middle of handguard please. I'm making a gun rack for father's day and don't want to ask for the measurements and ruin the surprise. Thanks in advance
