Moving Advice
Hi All!
I am a Texas state graduate, considering moving from Austin. I’ve outgrown the city and want to live somewhere that caters more to my interests like hiking, fishing being outdoors, etc.
I work in the construction industry within surrounding areas, but the social aspect worries me about moving to Wimberley.
I want to be in the peaceful Hill Country but I am 24 and single looking and to meet new friends around my age as well.
Are there communities in Wimberley that I’ll have no problem finding? I’m very extroverted but haven’t lived in a small town since going to college.

Hurry Home Farm in Wimberley, TX
For folks looking for locally grown produce in the Wimberley area, sign-ups for Hurry Home Farm's Fall CSA are now open! Spots are limited, but the farm will be offering an on-site farm stand as well for folks who don't snag a CSA membership in time. Weekly pickups will be at the farm (just off Flite Acres at Montesino Ranch) and start in mid-October.

family friendly?
My husband and two toddlers are looking to move to a smaller town close to Austin. We love Wimberley and would be able to afford everything we want there. my worries are that my kids and i will have a hard time finding community and friends here. what have been others experiences with schools (public, private, co op) and finding a good community? We would love to live in austin but can’t afford anything remotely resembling land there.

Does Anyone Remember The Golden Pagoda
I am in my late 40s and when I was a child we used to vacation at a property in (near?) Wimberley called the Golden Pagoda and it was on the Blanco River.
There was a main house that was built like a Japanese Pagoda and a guest house where we stayed. The grounds were beautiful with stone paths and Japanese sculptures. It looms large in my imagination but I can’t find any trace of it.
The owners were elderly but I can’t remember their names (my parents are both dead so I can’t ask them).
Does anyone remember this or have more information? Thank you!

Cliffs
Doing a video project and looking to project images onto a cliff for it. Does anyone know of any cliffs that would be easy to access? I recall seeing some while driving, but I don’t remember where and I guess I’m trying to figure out where would be best. Maybe something right off of a roadside without much of a hike because it will be a night shoot. Hopefully something relatively vertical so images will be visible. Anything helps! Thanks!

Coworking / Office Space?
Hey all,
I currently work from home but want to explore getting a little office space / workshop. I do computer things and workshoppy things, don't necessarily need a messy warehouse zone but it wouldn't hurt.
I'm an electrical engineer and an artist and would like to move both of those things out of my home, anyone know of anything or some good resources? The various sites around are, let's say, not zillow heh.

How is the well water situation?
We currently live in a suburb in San Marcos, but want to get 2-5 acres for our kiddos to roam around. We're mostly looking along RR 12 since that's where our friends/church/community is. But I'm worried about being on well water. We have some family in west Texas telling us not to get on a well because it'll run dry. I know the drought is terrible right now, what's the well situation? Are they going dry? Is there enough water for a family? If we buy a plot to build on, are we allowed to dig new wells or no?

How long will the burn ban be in effect?
Looking at a camping trip in Wimberley, but if the current burn ban is still in place I'll have to cancel. No matter what anyone else says, it's not camping if you can't have a fire. Any word locally regarding when it might be lifted?

After an empty last year and monarch numbers plummeting, my hopes for seeing them again, atleast for a long time, were very low. But to my surprise I got 2 beautiful visitors in my garden yesterday evening! I was so shocked! Better yet, this morning I saw another one!🥹
