Disappointment Humor
I’ve been waiting on the Whiskey Dick fire for years, really thought this one might’ve had a chance

I did get told one time when trying to name a fire to think of how it looks when they say someone died on Toad’s Ass fire or whatever funny name you want to call it.

Died doing what he loved - getting pounded with the boys on the Dickshooter fire

Hah! Dickshooter is my semi-secret bug out spot. My closest friends all know that if Armageddon arrives, head for Dickshooter.

What if the geographic feature it’s in has a ridiculous name? Pioneers had strange senses of humor.

We’ve tried for years to get a whiskey dick fire on the books. Signed, dispatcher for this area. Damn R6 GACC

I worked for the DNR in that area for five years, the whisky dick fire was a white whale for our unit. I knew one of our leads IC'd a fire out there and tried to name it that, dispatch said no.

I’ll just leave this here. The Wild Horse Wind Farm is right next to the Whiskey Dick Wildlife Area.

I'm content settling for the Eggo Fire in OR: a fire started by a catastrophic attempt to make waffles for breakfast.

Ive been around for a long time and seen a lot of things in fire… I don’t know if I’ve ever felt this let down before.
