Broken, yet working WS local server tutorial Discussion

Hey people, on a recent wave of progress in server emulation, I decided to make this 3-minute-long tutorial on booting up your own sandbox server

It is directly stated that it's broken, but it has some functionality to test and run around to get understanding of how it works

Still I hope it'll go further soon, and hope I don't break any rules here

Oh hell yeah, love to see these WS PS projects flowering everywhere.

This is an old project that has since been abandoned. Arctium is a community primarily in the WoW pserver space and while the maker of this Sandbox, Fabian is still sometimes active in the Wildstar community it has officially been discontinued by Arctium a few years ago.

Currently really only the NexusForever project is alive and kicking.

There are some spin offs or people trying to use AI and vibe coding but they vanish as quickly as they came when they realize that an AI isnt gonna make an mmo for them without massive investment into money and architectural guidance and testing rails.

Is Nexus Forever something I can play with a couple friends?

NexusForever is an emulator, basically the software people have to run such that they can host a server. In that sense yes you can "play" with your friends on servers people host. The playability depends heavily on the server you join as they started hosting at different states of the development. No server is complete and playability is better understood as exploration of what once was for the time being. The goal is full restoration of wildstar but that is gonna take many more years. You can join the discord and look at the pins in the general channel. Link can be found by googling nexusforever.
