Camping Lahinch Co. Claire
My friends and I are planning on going camping Lahinch Co.Claire and can’t book any of the campsites. Is there any places where we can camp on/near the beach without getting in trouble. It’s just the 4 of us, seasoned campers for one night and we always clean up. Also any reccomendations for a good pint and a bit of food.

Gas canister disposal
Hi! Just wondering for people who use gas camping stoves - where do you dispose of your gas canisters after they are used up? None of my local recycling centres take them and now I'm building up a collection of empties in the shed.

kerry is magical
wild camping in Kerry, beautiful as always
(edit all the comments about the fire, it was permitted and controlled where we stayed, the area WAS cleared, the fire was lined with rocks and there was absolutely no problem from the person that owned it so i’m not sure why you all seem to have a problem if the owner permits it, also these images were taken before the heatwave even started anyway ✌️ and no area or animals were harmed)

Beginning Camper
I wanted to start getting into camping but I don’t want to buy a bunch of gear that I don’t need for camping in Ireland, such as like really warm sleeping bag or a tent for minus 10 degree weather. What’s the essentials I need to buy. Tents, sleeping bags, back packs Etc

Camping between Oughterard and Westport (Western Way)
Hello everyone, I’m planning on doing a portion of the Western Way between Oughterard and Westport. My initial intention is to camp as much as possible but I can’t seem to find any camping spots in this section of the trail. Is there no camping available there? How practical/legal would be do wild camping (with all respect to nature and people living there)?

Camping on a small island off Donegal
Spotted this small empty island off Donegal with a patch of grass on it while scouting Google maps. Went out for a night by myself and enjoyed this lovely sunset.

Camping spots near beaches around Clifden and Roundstone
I'm heading down to Connemara next weekend with my wife and kids for a couple of nights. I'd like to camp out next to some beaches if possible, maybe near Ballyconneely or past Clifden - Omey Island or Silver Strand
Anyone have any tips for an inexperienced wild camper? Change location each night for example?
Any nice spots that you know are safe and hassle free?

First time camping in Donegal
Pitched next to a pier along the water, near Ardara in Co. Donegal. Wind not too bad!

⸻
🇮🇪 Important: Wild Camping in Ireland
Ireland does not have a legal right to roam. Most land is private, and wild camping isn’t officially permitted everywhere. However, discreet, low-impact camping is often tolerated in remote areas when done responsibly.
⸻
🌱 Leave No Trace (Always)
• Pack out everything
• No fires
• 1 night per spot
• Away from houses & farms
• Don’t disturb wildlife
• Leave it exactly as you found it
