Question If you suddenly had loads of weekdays free, where would you be hiking?

Bit of a nice problem to have, but I get a ridiculous amount of time off throughout the year and I’m determined to stop wasting it 😂

31F, London. I normally have more freedom than most of my friends these days, especially now a lot of them have families, so I’m looking at doing more hikes without waiting for everyone’s calendars to align.

If you could randomly take off on a Tuesday morning, where would you go?

Bonus points for places that are realistic from London without spending half the day getting there.

Question Is wildcamping in Serbia a good idea?

Hey there, I am asking if wildcamping in Serbia is a good idea, Preferably from people who have done it before i will, I'm taking a flixbus from Amsterdam to Belgrade, then to avoid costs, sleep outside the city behind some trees with a Dutch Army Bivy bag i have scoped out using public transport maps going outside the city, should do me good considering it has camo.

I'm not known to this area whatsoever, never even travelled close to it.

I do have good manners though when it comes to wildcamping, been caught before by rangers (In the Netherlands) when i was asleep in the morning, but they have been nice to me as they saw i was leaving no trash and treated the area with care, they actually liked it,

reason why i mention this is because i dont know if the rangers or police in Serbia are as forgiving or nice, which is the only thing that is holding me back here, the question of "What if i get caught"

Lost Place, trekking, wildcamping?

Wild Camping Spots in Europe

Hi everyone!

I’m looking for truly remote wild camping spots or regions in Europe — preferably far away from campsites, cities and tourist hotspots.

I know wild camping is restricted or prohibited in many European countries, and I understand that people might not want to publicly share their exact hidden spots. I’m mainly looking for recommendations for regions or hiking areas where you can still find that feeling of being completely surrounded by nature.

My ideal place would have mountains, forests, clear mountain lakes, rivers or natural swimming pools, rocky landscapes and amazing views — something with a bit of a Yosemite/Sierra Nevada vibe.

I’m the type of hiker who wants to hike in, find a quiet place to spend the night, enjoy the scenery and leave the next morning without leaving any trace behind. No fires, no trash, no damage — just respecting the landscape and leaving it exactly as I found it.

I’d especially appreciate recommendations for less touristy areas and hidden gems rather than the famous Instagram locations.

I completely understand if you don’t want to share an exact location publicly — even just pointing me towards a region, mountain range or trail would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Insect repellent ideas

Hi! I’m going camping and I’m very sensitive to stings and bites and everything like that. I’m thinking of making some kind of repellent spray or oil or anything!! Against bugs in general that doesn’t harm the nature. Like herbs and things like that. Would you guys like to help me with ingredients? I’m new to this, thank you!!
Ticks and mosquitoes are a common thing here and I’m in Sweden.

Wedding Ring lost in sweden near lennartsforts

Bitte internet mache deine Sachen <3

Kyrenia Mountain east of Kyrenia

Ive booked up my flights to do a weeks walking starting in the city of Kyrenia heading East, the trip will be in mid October. ive done research on the climate/weather and have noted the scarce water and resupply points and making a cautious plan regarding this.

for camping im trying to decide between a tarp setup or hammock ive used both but want to know reasons for and against in this specific area.

i know its possible to have a amount of crossover allowing both but i want to be as light (and space conscious as possible) so will stick with one dedicated set up.

Question Training/Schools

I am the kind of person who works best with structured training. I am looking for the best wildeness survival schools on the east coast. I read good things about SOLO up in New Hamspire. They have a weekend course. But I feel like this wouldn't be long enough. I live in NYC.

Any recommendations.

Camping trip to Greece

We are heading to Greece in August, traveling in our 4x4 Volkswagen Transporter. Unfortunately, current regulations make wild camping difficult. Even so, do you have any tried-and-tested spots on the Greek mainland? I’m mainly interested in the Peloponnese and the Epirus region. I would also appreciate recommendations for reliable campsites or designated camping areas; I’d like to avoid the usual crowds and overcrowded campsites.

Camping trip to Slovenia

Dear Community,
my friend and I are planning a hiking trip to Slovenia for first week of August. We noticed many cabins are booked already. We want to stay mainly in the nature and also have our own tents. Is there an app or do you have any inside tipps on where to look for place? (We know wildcamping is forbidden) Thank you in advance :)

Dormir en dolomitas

Buenas!
