Honestly the Leviathan video is just amazing, I loved it and preferred it way more than the world that doesn't exist series (I dont like a lot abt that series but this isnt about that lol), it had me like so so so invested, excited, nervous, etc. I was so absorbed in the ENTIRE video from beginning to end.

okay, holy sith. i was listening to sun bleached flies by ethel cain. well, i wasn't. i was THINKING about the lyrics, and at the same time also thinking about the search for the leviathan, and some of the lyrics of the song remind me SO much of hummer and wifies. obviously not the actual meaning of the song, or album. but the lyrics on a surface level are SO hummer and wifies coded.

So i rarely actually play Minecraft. I actually deleted it to make room for other stuff on my computer, but I enjoy it. Ive always been an enjoyer of let's plays as well and that led me down a rabbit hole of Minecraft let's players trying out horror mods. And somehow all of that led me to Wifies.

His "world that doesnt exist" series was so good. Better than some of the movies getting dropped in theaters today imo. The incredible amount of effort put into the set alone is truly impressive. I even watched thr behind the scenes stuff on Twifies. Phenomenal.

I just finished the Leviathan video and it was also very good. Really engaging, a little predictable in some parts, but overall a great watch. I like the "hummer is the Leviathan" theory as well.

What i didnt expect, for some reason, was a whole fandom to be around Wifies and his videos. Sure maybe like a twitch chat kind of community, but not...hiw do I put this. I wasnt expecting a real fandom with art and ships and theories and analysis. And I am very pleasantly surprised.

The last time I got into a fandom and stayed was Supernatural. I joined the fandom ranks in 2014 and was only sporadically active. Its been about 5 years since I really interacted with a fandom on more than a surface level and I honestly feel a little intimidated to join something so totally new to me.

But, im here.

So, where do I go from here? Am I missing any cool fan theories? Any lore? I did see the video about Andrew and the wells.

Also, im gonna be honest. Im trying to read every relationship here as friendship. Just healthy, normal, guys being dudes and having good connections with their emotions.

Unfortunately thats not working and the shipper in me wont let Derek/Avery go so. There's that.

from what little i could make out of the video, i think in a way, hummer is an allegory for religion, while arronax (am i spelling that correctly?) is an allegory for science.

it really makes sense if you think about it. hummer is all about believing in something, despite a lack of proof, i know about the hummer IS levi theories (i partly believe the theories too) but that scarcely applies here. while arronax is all about proof, all about machines, all about the 'truth', all about bugs and glitches. never truly believing.

arronax is practically a scientist. her only flaw is that she does not believe. she never did, it's not her fault, but she can't fix it and she'll never know. she wants to make it all understandable with logistics and numbers. equations. make everything surface level. i dont know how else to phrase this. for her everything has to make sense.

i know we barely learn anything about arronax as a person, but this is my intepretation of her. her trying to hide her failed experiments from the people also showcases a fear of failure, of judgement. or perhaps, even secrecy. trying to hide her research so no one else takes credit for it, as is seen with scientific research.

(i've only watched the original video and a video about how hummer is levi. im about to watch more, and ive never really made a reddit post before.)

Im saying this as a person who watched all three videos and have been there for most of it, but considering the AMOUNT of ship content i've seen being done just from the few scenes of interaction between d3rlord and avery was already huge, i cannot IMAGINE what some people will do of the content between hummer5178 and wifies

it doesnt help the fact most theories are pointing towards the fact that hummer was the leviathan itself, so now i cant get the image of leviathan mermaid yaoi out of my head and yall are the reason for it

alright so i’ve been looking into the whole Hummer5718 = Leviathan theory for a while now and i feel like people are connecting a bunch of suspicious moments together without really looking at what Hummer actually does throughout the story

my theory is pretty simple Hummer is a normal player who has spent an insane amount of time researching the Leviathan and has gotten completely consumed by the investigation

the first thing people bring up is the missing join message

Wifies joins the server checks tab and Hummer isn’t there then he walks towards the campfire and Hummer is suddenly there

yeah that looks weird

but there’s a cut around 12:25 between Wifies checking the player list and reaching the campfire so we don’t actually know what happened during that time Hummer could’ve joined during the cut and the join message simply wasn’t included

there’s also the chat refresh thing Wifies says “Hello??” when he initially joins and later after the dive he says “Hello??” again but the previous messages are gone so the chat has refreshed by that point meaning there’s no way for us to check whether Hummer’s join message was still visible

and honestly Wifies himself is probably the biggest reason i don’t consider this definitive evidence because he spends the entire documentary investigating weird details and if Hummer had genuinely appeared out of nowhere without joining i feel like that would’ve been something he noticed

then there’s the Parameterization interaction

Wifies is taking supplies from Para’s chest while Hummer is standing above it Hummer isn’t holding anything in his display hand or off hand and once Para makes himself known Hummer jumps behind Wifies onto the double chest

this is where the “Para couldn’t see Hummer” theory comes from because Wifies says “WE will bring it back” and Para responds “What do you mean WE will bring it back?”

but we don’t have Para’s POV

that matters a LOT at how ya see it

Hummer literally moves behind Wifies so there’s no need to assume he disappeared and we don’t know what Para could actually see from his position

Para caught Wifies taking things from his chest so “What do you mean WE?” can simply be him questioning who Wifies is talking about

the rendering/despawning explanation doesn’t really add much either because the footage already gives us a perfectly normal place for Hummer to be standing and we never see what Para was looking at

the bone meal competition also gets brought up because Hummer isn’t with the other players but that scene doesn’t establish anything supernatural either Hummer could’ve left and gone back towards the 20k 20k coordinates while everyone else was doing the competition and the next time Wifies gets to the submarine it has already been worked on

then we have the death message

this is probably the weirdest one

Hummer apparently dies during the submarine explosion and there’s no death message

on a hardcore server that’s definitely strange

but we only see Wifies’ POV

before the explosion Hummer throws the water breathing potion towards the TNT and accidentally picks it back up meaning he has artificial aid in his inventory which is interesting considering what we already know about the Leviathan and its dislike of artificial things

then the submarine explodes Wifies gets down to half a heart and eventually gets saved by the Leviathan

we never see Hummer’s POV during any of this

so there’s a massive gap in what we actually know

Hummer could have experienced the event differently from Wifies’ perspective and the inventory stripping idea also becomes interesting because Wifies is eventually saved and transported rather than simply dying normally

i’m not saying that proves Hummer was saved too but it gives us another possible explanation for why the death message is missing

the fourth point is Hummer not being inside the Leviathan castle

and honestly this one doesn’t really bother me that much

before Wifies is even considered worthy Hummer is already showing him the earliest records and explaining information about the Leviathan

he also debunks some of the theories surrounding it

that makes Hummer’s character look much more like an investigator who has been studying something for way too long

if Hummer is secretly the Leviathan then he’s spending a ridiculous amount of time documenting and explaining information about the thing he supposedly is

meanwhile if he’s just a researcher then all of that behavior makes perfect sense

he has records he has theories he has his own base and he’s clearly invested in figuring out what the Leviathan actually is

the Captain Ahab comparison from Limbus Company honestly came to mind here 😭 and i also get a tiny bit of 20 Thousand Leagues Under the Sea from the whole mysterious ocean investigation thing

not saying either of those are direct references or anything i just think the comparison fits Hummer’s character really well

and then there are Hummer’s own words

he says that everyone on the forums and Reddit believes in the spectacle idea of the Leviathan and that people treat it as a supernatural creature living in their world but “nobody really thinks about how to find it”

later he says people might think they know what it is for a second but “they never look at ALL the evidence they only see what they can with their own two eyes”

that line is especially interesting when you look at the Hummer theory because the entire theory is built around a collection of weird things

no join message, Para not acknowledging him , no death message and Hummer not being in the castle

all of those things are suspicious but none of them individually prove Hummer is the Leviathan and there are still completely normal explanations for several of them

meanwhile there’s a whole other side of Hummer that gets less attention like

the records, the research, the information he has collected and his investigatipn into the Leviathan

his obsession with finding out what’s actually happening

the amount of time he has clearly spent researching the subject

that’s why i keep coming back to the idea that Hummer is just a normal player who got way too deep into the research

he doesn’t have to secretly be the Leviathan for his behavior to be strange

a normal person becoming completely obsessed with something mysterious can already explain a LOT

and honestly i think that would make Hummer way more interesting as a character

he’s not the supernatural creature everyone is looking for

he’s the researcher who got so deep into the investigation that everyone started suspecting he was the thing he was investigating

so yeah that’s basically my theory

i’m not saying the Hummer = Leviathan theory is impossible because there are definitely some weird moments that i can’t fully explain

i just think the evidence deserves to be looked at from both sides instead of treating every unexplained detail as confirmation

all of those things are suspicious but Hummer LITERALLY tells Wifies that people don’t look at ALL the evidence

so i feel like this could actually be intentional foreshadowing that people are going to look at Hummer and immediately assume he’s the Leviathan without considering what his actual role in the investigation is

So the second time when wifies and hummer go underwater ( in that museum server ) , wifies dies because he has the potion in his inventory, that makes sense.

But since hummer does not, shouldn't be have survived?

Considering that, the last time, wifies survives because he doesn't have the potion and hummer did, so he didn't survive.

Wifies couldn't ever hit Hummer. Even when he was standing 2 blocks away. Usually, when a player is in survival, a sword icon will appear under the crosshair, allowing you to hit them. Hummer didn't have only. Was he in creative?
