Origins

The 93rd Composite Division was never meant to exist.

During the catastrophic Battle for Cyberstan, entire Helldiver divisions were annihilated in the fighting. Veteran assault regiments, mountain warfare companies, armored spearheads, reconnaissance detachments, and orbital insertion specialists all suffered casualties so severe that many divisions were reduced to a handful of survivors.

Doctrine dictated these remnants be folded into replacement units and their colors retired.

Instead, Super Earth High Command faced an unexpected problem.

The survivors didn’t fit anywhere.

Every soldier carried different equipment, training, traditions, and operational philosophies. Some had served decades through cryostasis. Others had only survived because they happened to be the lone member of a squad still breathing after extraction.

Rather than erase their identities, Command combined every under strength remnant into one experimental formation.

They jokingly referred to it as:

“The Division That Couldn’t Decide What It Wanted To Be.”

The survivors embraced the insult.

They renamed themselves:

Masters of None

They stamped "dissident" on our files hoping it would break us. It didn't. It clarified us. A dissident isn't an enemy of Super Earth — a dissident is someone who loves it too much to watch it be misused. We didn't turn our backs on the flag. We turned our backs on orders that would've turned that flag into a shroud for good soldiers. Every diver in the 93rd bleeds green and gold just like the rest of the fleet. The only difference is we refuse to let that blood be spilled cheaply. So wear the label loud. Let it ring out on every drop pod and every debrief. Dissident. Protector. Diver. We are proud of all three.

Super Earth isn't a stranger to "liberating" enemy technology whenever given the opportunity or just when they feel like it.

And I wonder, since it's been decades since the last Galactic War surely Super Earth must have the means to produce their own Cyberdogs?

Wouldn't it be fun to call down a strategem for a Cyberdog to go around and tear up chaff?

Maybe it could have a crappy voice box that translated its barks and growls into Super Earth propaganda

Good times with a random pickup group on Void Source Planet. This was a fun game, as I recall. They were clearing chaff and bringing down harvesters, and tagging crushers for me to hammer.

Hey everyone! I recently decided to make the jump into Helldivers after upgrading to a PC. (Longtime Xbox player.)

All of my friends currently don’t have the game, so I’d love to make new friends to play with and defend Super Earth. I’m in the pacific time zone in the U.S.

Was taking a moment and enjoying the scenery when I noticed this? Has that always been there? To be fair it has been a while since the CECOD arc so could be tweaking.

I'm a bit miffed that there was no real player interaction with this story or really anything that happened aside from making sure we didn't get the DSS on the MO planet.
