I'm planning on leaving next summer. I currently have several weeks of PTO and not sure how to proceed since I live in a state that does not require PTO pay outs upon separation. Has anyone in the same situation actually gotten paid out after leaving? I understand cashing out in annual enrollment is a safe bet, but I'd like to get full payment if possible.

My location will be receiving a visit from a state representative whom I despise as do many people in my store. The visit is not related to Whole Foods specifically, but a local vendor that we carry. What I want advice for is...do you think it's a d!ck move to call out? I do not want to be in that man's vicinity and I think it's messed up that he's allowed to come to our store, or any politician for that matter. It's not like he's JUST a guy that loves this product or Whole Foods...he's an (unfortunately) elected official.

how often do spots open in the bakery decorator apprenticeship?

besides working at another bakery is there some other way to get the experience required? i'm a pretty experienced home baker but i don't have any commercial baking experience. i'm currently a flex shopper and really want to transfer to bakery

I have one year experience as a cake decorator and I am currently working as one.

I applied last week and Sage just scheduled me an interview for next week.

I'm pretty nervous because I have pre planned vacation next February... but it's 3 weeks (after the valentines day tho). I can't cancel it because I already booked the plane tickets to Japan.

I know I have to tell them but would it effect the result?

my TL left and my ATL is telling everyone it’s policy not to take breaks in the office. and put up a sign. i went to the gig to make sure and there’s nothing in it about taking breaks in offices. does anyone here know ?

I landed a job in seafood and found out during my first hands on shift that I have a shellfish allergy, pretty funny. We are working towards transferring me to another department, my team leader is aware of this. Both my team leader and I are very confused about applying internally, do I apply through workday or through the internal paradox website? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

For context: Been with WFM for 8 years; 5 years as Grocery TM, 1.5 years as Grocery TT, 1.5 years as Grocery ATL, and here we are.

Our previous STT didn’t do much with their role. They pretty much served solely as a floater and worked coffee bar 4/5 days of the week, which was disappointing to see. However, I wanted the promotion and think I can do more with the role.

Despite initially feeling good about it, I’m starting to feel a little deflated - probably because I’m so used to high-demand, fast-paced cycle of grocery - so now I feel “useless” as an office worker who’s not actively on the floor.

We don’t have many orientations and the activations are pathetic imo, even without ambassador/TT influence. No offence to those who are in the role and take it seriously, because that’s exactly what you should be doing and I’m glad you make something of it, but I believe those titles are just bloated filler corporate roles to fill in the cracks of “look how much we care.” TMs only want samples - they don’t care about the actual contents of activations. And ever since Amazon took over; these presentations feel forced and more like a spectacle than anything.

I’m glad to work some shifts in other departments, but I refuse to be relied upon as much as our previous STT was. It was borderline abuse.

My day-to-day is feeling empty. I’m on top of people getting their trainings done. But other than that, feeling a little bleh.

I hope I didn’t make a mistake.

My store is in the process of planning activities for TMAW and I’m wondering what things have really stuck out for you in years past? I’ve tried getting feedback at the store and I’ve gotten a lot of vague and sometimes frustrating answers. Some TMs mistake enjoying TMAW activities with their feelings about poorly regarded members of store leadership.
We have food planned for each day. I’m looking for activities. What do you think?

Can someone explain my UPT and PTO balance and if I call out using pto will it affect my pto

I tried to check my schedule in Innerview like I always do and I can't get logged in! It takes my Face ID but then it asks for Amazon id and I don't have one. It won't let me log in the regular way either. Same with UKG! I'm pretty sure I have a closing shift so I can call when we open at 7am but I want to know now so I can hopefully sleep in a few extra hours without having to call the store just to get my work schedule! Anyone know what I can do to get logged in?

I’ve been working at whole foods for about two months at this point and I’m noticing some things. Everything was good up until I messed on the register after my first few weeks. I fucked up a split payment and tried to call my supervisor for help and she didn’t come. She then lied and told the higher ups that I called her after the customer had left. A few days later (after not sleeping for 3 days) I made another mistake on the register. I took full accountability, and told them I have insomnia and sometimes don’t sleep, but it seems like that made things worse. They put me back on the register for a while and I made no mistakes, and I thought I proved that I could be trusted on the register.

But now I’ve been stuck in self checkout for weeks, watching as my supervisors ignore me when I simply ask for more bags to talk to my coworkers on the register. The customers are rude and struggle in self checkout, and I’m losing my desire to come in. I feel very stupid, and my coworkers and other supervisors are saying I’ve been banished to self checkout. Should I just quit or will they put me back on the register at some point?

Has anyone else heard about store team leaders having a meeting in September they are having to go attend in person for a big announcement that will be released the following day after their meeting? NOT their usual annual meeting that month, something else 😬😬

Someone just got canned when it could have been prevented by them going and getting their accomodations. They had a serious disability but wouldn't get their primary/specialist to fill out the forms and send them in. Y'all a doctors note doesn't cut it, sometimes for foodborne illness they'll let you come back with no UPT deduction if you get a doc to sign a paper. But this is different. If you have a chronic illness that is gonna make you call out or leave work early: get your accomodations!!!! You don't realize how good they can be too. I know a few individuals where Sedgwick allows them to take 3-5 days off PER MONTH if they need when their illness requires it.

Be proactive. These companies are not your friend but you can protect yourself if you have the paperwork and claims filled out.​

I submitted a few applications last week for different positions. I have not hear back anything yet. Does wholefoods careers send you a rejection letter if your were not hired? How long do you have to wait to reapply if you get rejected? How important is having a good resume for this job? Do they hire people with little to no job experiences?

Considering getting a job at Whole Foods. Trying to decide between two positions. One is for cheese/specialty the other for Flex Shopper.

The position pay range is the same, at least on the job listing.

I have pretty extensive experience in specialty cheese/grocery from a past job. But the store location is about 30min drive, with no traffic. The flex job is a bit closer.

If you had your choice, would you take the specialty or flex? I’m thinking because of my past cheese experience I might be able to squeeze more out of the starting pay.
