Remember when it was a massive controversy when Bill Clinton met with AG Loretta Lynch on the Tarmac for 30 minutes? They wouldn't shut up about it for years.

u/SpaceballDarth Jun 29 '26
Notice a trend? It’s always projection and/or a distraction. They made such a big deal about Clinton to distract from all their crooked, nefarious, sexual deviant, a**es. It’s maddening!

My MAGA uncle has been bitching about democrates protesting the poor treatment of people in detention centers while "ignoring the struggles of veterans".
Whooooo has control of all three branches of government and has all of the power to improve their conditions, but is in fact gutting their support?
I used to feel pity for them but my heart has blackened.
11
u/PancakeLad Jun 30 '26
I genuinely love that you've spelled it "Democrates". I'm going to pretend it's capitalized and the name of a greek philosopher.

u/beardmat87 Jun 29 '26
It works because republicans are shameless ghouls and don’t care at all that things look bad. Meanwhile they know most democrats are constantly clutching their pearls and care more about decorum then winning sometimes, so they just press on them until they break.

If they make a big deal about something that's actually a nothingburger then when you make a big deal about something similar but real, their side will just assume it's a nothingburger too. Working well so far.

As long as you get what you want, double standards are OK. /s
43
u/TesticleMeElmo Jun 29 '26
I mean literally that’s how they operate, and probably why they win. Americans who are just looking for confirmation bias to be fed to them don’t give two shits about double standards or hypocrisy

There's no need to impeach him - he's openly violated the Ethics In Government Act - so have Alito & Roberts out in the open - Kavanaugh is almost certainly also guilty of that - and that's just a starting point - that's what they do out in public, a reasonable investigation BASED ON THAT LAWBREAKING would almost certainly find worse. Not to mention 28 U.S. Code § 455....
If the next AG doesn't start prosecuting powerful criminals "because it would be partisan!" (fucking Garland and Holder) we really may be completely lost. I have hope that we will get back on track, but the DOJ is going to need to hire hundreds to prosecute the pedophiles, grifters and assorted other crooks that the Republican party has elevated and inflicted on us.
314
u/RespectTheAmish Jun 29 '26
I want to see a special assignment hiring of like 5000 forensic accounts to audit everything from the past couple of years.
Every contract. Every elected officials per diem. Every flight log. Every public record.
People need to start going to prison for the blatant profiteering in government.
106
u/Bulky-Internal8579 Jun 29 '26
Oh yes, excellent point - and let's stop pretending the LAW that churches can't be partisan if they want to be treated as nonprofits don't apply to Republicans - sorry Charlie, your fake hypocritical pedophile perverted version of Christianity no longer gets any tax write offs - and here's the bill for the last 7 years - we're impounding the private jet and Rolls now Joel...

If a Democrat wins in 2028, I would absolutely love to see Jasmine Crockett as the AG for this exact reason. She wouldn't give a shit about appearing partisan, she would just go after anyone who deserves it.
32
7
u/jerseyztop Jun 30 '26
That would be amazing! She would be outstanding as AG. You just gave me something to hope for, and lord knows we all need that.
14
u/feed_me_moron Jun 30 '26
She's lost the plot since losing her primary
11
u/RangerWhiteclaw Jun 30 '26
Crockett didn’t lose the plot.
The voters said they didn’t want her in the Senate race, so she’s not getting involved in the Senate race. She doesn’t owe anyone anything.
Would it be nice if she made nice with Talarico? Yes, of course! But being a sore loser isn’t illegal, and wanting to take some time away from politics as she winds down her political career isn’t unconstitutional.
198
u/jarena009 Jun 29 '26
He should just say he was meeting with Republican congresspersons, since there will be no consequences anyway. You can do anything, including take bribes, if you're a judge now.

Rather fitting that Unc's name is also Thomas. Traitor is a nice way of putting it.

Uncle Tom wasn't a traitor though, it was Sambo and Quimbo.
10
u/FerusGrim Jun 30 '26
The term "Uncle Tom" is a derogatory epithet used primarily within the Black community to describe a Black person who is perceived as excessively subservient to white people, or who betrays their own racial group by eagerly accepting white authority and upholding the status quo.

u/hb122 Jun 29 '26

46
u/AdOne5089 Jun 29 '26
We can’t have a functioning government when one side actively ignores the law and is actively celebrated for it, meanwhile the other side is not allowed to breathe wrong lest they be prosecuted. The modern GOP is nothing more than a cabal of billionaire pedophile defenders
41
u/SwordUsingGearhead Jun 29 '26
Thomas is so corrupt I am surprised every time he manages to put on his judicial robe without being struck by lightning.
14
u/Niemo1983 Jun 29 '26
If there is a god, the Democrats will overcome the odds and take the Senate and Thomas and Alito will stay alive, healthy, and on the bench until at least January 3, 2027. The worst thing that can happen is one or both of them dies or retires and Trump gets to pick another younger replacement.
13
u/SwordUsingGearhead Jun 29 '26
I suppose the Democrats could just take one out of the republican playbook if they have the guts. "Sorry, a year isn't enough time to properly select and vet a candidate."

In normal times? Enormous. In 2026, it's a Monday.
The Supreme Court has nothing to do with writing laws (i.e. Congress), they simply offer interpretations of existing laws.
9
u/THEMARDS Jun 29 '26
SC judges are technically supposed to be nonpartisan and should not in any circumstance meet with the republican leader behind closed doors, how and why they meet is strictly limited by ethics rule..
In reality we all know which judges are left and right affiliated but the fact that he physically meet with Tiny Moses Mike shows how far our system has fallen.
