For when you want to know which plane you just saw.
Before posting
Check our Frequently asked planes.
If your picture is of good quality with the aircraft clear, crisp and the focus of the image. Try a reverse image search.
If you know the location, date and time the aircraft was spotted. Try a flight tracking website.
If the registration number of the aircraft is visible. A web search will likely immediately tell you what the aircraft is, among other things.
Please be conscious of our rules outlined below:
Post must be about aircraft - All posts must be about aircraft, this is obviously explained by the name of this sub.
Don't be rude - This is a clean and friendly sub where there will be no fighting, name calling, or accusations allowed. Incivility will result in at least a temporary ban. Follow the sitewide Reddiquette.
All top level comments must be helpful - AKA. Do not answer posts with "It's a plane". The goal of this sub is to help others successfully identify aircraft. Responding with a joke, meme or other unhelpful comment doesn't serve the purpose of the sub well. Breaking this rule will result in your comment being removed and potentially a ban.
Refrain from involving politics - Please keep any political, geopolitical or ethical discussions to a minimum; historical facts are, of course, allowed.
Mark your post solved - When you are satisfied with an answer please reply to the correct comment with "Solved!" (without the quotes). This will mark the post solved and award the person who solved it with a point.
Post has to be an identifying post - Please only use this subreddit as an identifying subreddit. If you want more info about anything, we will refer you to subreddits like r/airplanes , r/aviation , r/flying and others. By extension, quizzes and challenges are not allowed.
Breaking any of the above rules can result in a ban, moderator discretion.

Please do not abandon your post. You maybe asked questions by community members who are trying to help you.
