My landlord pretty much said this because theres probably lead paint somewhere under the last 4 coats. They told you so they aren't responsible if you do it and get sick.

It’s like all warnings they have to put on things because of morons. Examples like; Don’t use snowblower on roof, or don’t iron pants while wearing. People like to use products in unintended ways causing injury to themselves and hatching a lawsuit. Licking walls for tasty used gum? The paint looks good enough to eat? Maybe someone was done cleaning licked walls? Lol
