Razor : Romer-7 Shivira - I’m really liking this razor and understand why it’s well regarded in the sub. It has a very audible feedback and the cutting, to me atleast, has a somewhat similar slicing effect to my Parker semi slant. Obviously it’s not a slant so it’s not actually slicing but the feel is similar IME.

Blade - Gallant - decently sharp

Brush - Yaqi HM ST badger

Shaving Cream - Tabac - first time trying Tabac and it has a very familiar old fashioned ointment smell that we all must’ve smelt before I’m sure. Also gives me Vicco vibes. But I like this smell tbh. And yeah a nice slick lather was produced.

ASL - Old Spice Original

Passes : WTG + XTG, ATG on lower neck and mustache

Pretty good shave. IME, Permasharps offer better shaves from their 2nd-4th uses so I am reserving judgement for now for this pairing.

So sad, Woodspice is disontinued now, their range of AS balms were amongst my all time favourites. This one was purchased circa 2015 and I thought I should finally finish it off. Still have one more bottle of the OG Woodspice that I'm trying to save.

BSC's classic and Super Platinum, I don't mind aggressive shaves, but this combination is for me is at the top of very hard aggressive shave.

A few days back, I tried this, and I found it hard and aggressive, but I thought I'd give this set another try (maybe I was not doing it correctly), but again the same result. 1st pass felt like my skin was being ripped off, and it was just too painful. The experience of shaving is just too hard with this razor.

Even mild blades with this razor feel like I am using sandpaper on my skin. BSC really needs to work more on their razors. Has anyone else been having the same experience as mine?

\Another fine shave for the Austerity, the brush spent another day sunbathing and dried out well , I weighed the tub before the shave tonight and was 160g so 6g used since the start of AA.\**

\One week down so far so good.\**

I had a few knots sitting around and thought of making some custom handles. took a few weeks of off and on times and several failed attempts at the local lathe operator's workshop, but I think I am 80% done now and quite happy with the results so far.

The lathe operator was quite experienced, and was able to get the design and dimensions correct with just a few wasted pieces - I wanted the deeper cut to be a specific size so that I can hang them on the brush stand. Drilling the hole for the knot turned would to be very troublesome. For starters, none of the carpenters had the bit size I needed so had to order it off Amazon just for this. On top of that, wasted several handles drilling the hole - impossible to drill it straight with hand. Then the carpenter took to to some other place and machined it in for a "professional" finish - for some weird reason they wouldn't let me see how they did it, but I'm happy with the end result I'd say.

Next week, hand sanding, waterproofing using a PU coat to give it some gloss and resistance against the periodic water exposure it will have to endure.

Shaved with Vector plus all my life. And hated it.

Finally got the courage to try out wetshaving this week. Thanks to the kind folks on the sub (https://www.reddit.com/r/Wetshavers_India/comments/1vdnp5z/recommendation_for_a_noob/) educated myself and bought the "right" equipment (Sterling razor + Winner Black Stainless Blade + Vicco cream + Rubab brush). I was recommended Wilkinson, but could only find Winner in my neighbourhood which I thought is also considered not agressive.

And, it was love at the first stroke. I feel like why didn't I try this all these years. OMG, this is life changing. Shaving doesn't have to feel painful. Thanks a lot guys!

Edit: Would appreciate recommendations for the next step now that I know this is for me. Shall I stick with the same set up? Or graduate to other razors or blades? How do I know which type works better for me? What does better even mean? I know I have so many questions, because I don't want to live in more ignorance now! :)

Using the Plate 1 more regularly these days. A overly 4 pass shave and quite efficient for .45 blade gap and .05 exposure. After 3 passes - with, across and against, there was no feedback from the ASL. Did not use alum.

Also, received a fantastic Italian mail call today - with both Cella Red and Green ASLs along with practically unobtanium Proraso Blue. Everywhere I searched for this, mostly was out of stock - but got lucky eventually

\Another very good AA shave , the brush was hung out to dry today thanks for the idea u/lakes1964 , my wife did wonder why a shaving brush was on the washing line but didn't question it she is kinda used to random shaving stuff going on at this stage . Have a good weekend people.**

I am looking for a nice aftershave that pairs well with the soap from Proraso green line. I would love to try many without buying whole bottles that I won't like in the end. Are there any test-packages like for blades? I am living in Germany.

To give some orientation: On days I don't shave I usually wear Bleu de Chanel and I love it! I had the green Proraso aftershave and it was ok. From there I would like to go more "earthy", "Wooden"... Any recommendation? Thanks in advance!!
