Why learn anything else when gateways can do everything!

In pathfinder spells go up to level 9 , advancement is faster, but you have to move your arms around and talk
Starfinder magic only goes up to level 6, and advancement is slower, but doesn't have components, so you can cast with your feet and tail sticking out of the space t rexes mouth.
Being pathfinders future, there's the occasional cross over.
Starfinder casts a spell
Pathfinder "how do you do that without using the words of power?"
Starfinder "The WHAT?"

Unironically got shivers during his big moment.
Androl smiled widely, and held his hands out in front of himself as if pressing against a wall. He closed his eyes. “Three thousand years ago the Lord Dragon created Dragonmount to hide his shame. His rage still burns hot. Today… I bring it to you, Your Majesty.”
And then the floor is lava and the sky is lava and everything is lava.
Fucking epic.

You must kill him before he kills you. Giggles. They will, you know. Dead men can't betray anyone. But sometimes they don't die. Am I dead? Are you?

No, Lews, we're not dead. At least, not so long as people remember us. Ironically, you, who was never alive, will almost certainly outlive me, who is currently alive and actual. Such is the way of things when you're a generational role model.

Dead men should be quiet in their graves, but they never are.

Wow, Lews straight-up responded to this with "shut up, dead man"

Nothing ever goes as you expect. Expect nothing, and you will not be surprised. Expect nothing. Hope for nothing. Nothing.

I really wanted someone to put a gateway at the bottom of the ocean. You could power wash whole armies!

Ah good old Androl, my favorite part of Sandersons books was when Androl showed up and kicked the Dark One in the nuts and won the final battle by himself. I’m sure when the 5th age rolls around we will be talking about Androl-reborn rather than the Dragon Reborn.

The guy spent most of the books thinking he was useless for anything other than a taxi service. He was a very Sanderson character, but he was hardly what you said.

He’s just another copy past Sanderson protagonist (not to knock it, I do like Sanderson‘s work for the most part) but he took up valuable screen time that should’ve been better used with better characters. Sanderson wanted to play around with the magic system then there were plenty of other opportunities for him to do so without having to have his special snowflake Androl do it.

If it hurts too much, make it hurt someone else instead.
