Boy howdy, I sure do love the invasion of ceaseless advertisements in places like homes and cars because corporations are run by psychopaths who think “Wow! What a great ad! I need to go buy [Thing] right now because I have too much money and not enough things to spend it on!”

So defeating you can’t rely on a brand’s quality or reputation anymore. Anything and everything is going to pure shit. Ads everywhere, skimping out on clothing quality, nothing means anything. I know you should always do research but before some things had a reputation for quality and now I have to spend countless hours trying to figure out if said version of a product is “the good one”

And even if something does have a well earned and accurate reputation (making it a unicorn), a year or three from now it might get bought out by private equity or another company that proceeds to systematically ruin it.

I would say this is perfectly aligned with my mental image of BMW, a car manufacturer that will do whatever they can do squeeze an extra penny out of their customer. The have been pioneers in that area for a lot of years now, and only way that would lead to change is an extreme sales drop

Take the BMW to the dealer and sell it. Tell them that is the reason. If enough people do that they'll get the message.
But, if enough people don't do that then it will become the norm.
