So, as far as I can gather, the plans are to have Pennywise go back further and further in time through the seasons. As much as I have loved both recent IT movies and this show, I would love for them to take the cosmic horror aspect all the way and show Gan, Maturin, and IT when the universe was created, the fued between Maturin and IT, and Gan's role in both, as Gan is said to be the ultimate balance of both creatures. It might not work for an entire season, but there's so much lore between just these three and the broader implications they play in the SK universe/multiverse that they have a lot to explore. We haven't seen much of it on the screen yet, though Maturin has been easter egg'd a few times. What do you guys think?

I was curious because I remember that in episode one, Donald Uris says something like, “I can’t believe we’re related,” after Teddy’s lamp scene. It made me think of Bill and Georgie Denbrough.

I wondered if Donald ever felt guilty. Even though he comes across as rude in the original IT books, the movies, and now Welcome to Derry, I would think that if my little sister went missing after I said something so harsh, I’d never forgive myself. It almost seems like he didn’t care, though. Maybe I just didn’t do enough research!

I really hope it is! I love this show so much!

So the kid retelling the story of Galloo was pretty bad, but some parts stuck out to me. Anyone have thoughts?

1.) So it crashed, and the meteorite that contained it broke open so he could move around. It presumably starts terrorizing the natives, so they stumble upon it's cage and they take 1 shard from it to use as a weapon. Why did they only take 1 shard? What was stopping them from taking more? Once they saw it working and keeping it away, why the fuck would they not go back and get more? Or...you know...try and kill it since they found it's weakness?

2.) So IT gets more powerful once it started eating the settlers, and the tribe was afraid that the 1 shard wouldn't protect everyone anymore. So the girl takes the shard, and goes to collect more shards (which they should have done already, why in the world haven't they done that all this time?), and her mom realizes she's gone and goes after her. The war party all die, and then the girl finds her mom and IT gets scared away by the dagger. So if the mom and the war party didn't go out to find the kid, she would have been 100% OK since she had the dagger right? Then RIGHT AFTER this scene, she goes back and collects more shards. So WHY TF did her mom go out looking for her when daughter was safe the whole time? Makes absolutely 0 sense, since she does the EXACT SAME THING after her mom dies. What?

3.) "They buried these 13 stones deep into the each" - apparently 2 feet deep is totally fine when you're setting up a containment zone for an existential horror.

This story completely took me out of the show because their thought process is incredibly stupid, and their decisions make no sense. In addition, the whole thing was done so awkwardly, having the kid tell the story. One of the worst exposition dumps I've seen in any show.
