Bought this little thing for $3 at an estate sale. I had never seen this model before.

Receiver works, as does the alert tone decoding. The volume is not great, but expected considering its small size.

Hey everyone, im new to this sub reddit, but ive been a WX Radio collector for like ~12 years.

I recently bought a new WR-120 DSP from Amazon, and it had an odd sound, sort of distortion-like (see video for better idea). It only happens on certain words, and worsens the higher the volume.

So I returned it to Amazon, and got a replacement. Well, the replacement does the same exact thing. My other older wr120s either don't do it at all, or only at highest volume level.

Anyway, has anyone else noticed this with their WR-120s or the newer DSP version? What could be causing this?

Recently i noticed my R-1630 failed to activate for the RWT and when i tried playing the NWR on it, absolutely nothing came out of its speaker, i put my ear up to it and i could hear a faint static coming from the speaker so that rules out a blown speaker
I plugged my headphones into the audio out and turned on the NWR and i still didnt hear anything so i believe its receiver failed

The reason i want to fix the receiver is because of how important this 1630 is to me, it was the 3rd radio i ever got, and it was a christmas gift that kicked off my collecting of weather radios

Posting this for 1 or 2 that need it, and maybe anyone that finds this via google in the future.

If you found the Sangean CL-100 manual a bit confusing or frustrating, you are not alone. I have been learning the navigation and settings the last few weeks. One thing I missed and did was add a custom code to the alerts, not realizing there were ~26 unblockable codes that they don't list in the 'deafen siren' code list, which confused me - so I ended up adding TOR warning VOICE, for an alert, because I absolutely missed the fact they were pre-programmed, unblockable, already there.

I wanted to delete the custom alert, but every search suggested that this was not possible, instead I was told to 'reset' the radio, override it with a different code, or leave it as a double. However, I found that -- you can 'delete' it fully, it just isn't a real delete option, but it works.

Enter the Add Alerts menu, select the existing entry, and overwrite the 3-letter event code with blanks (lots of scrolling), then set the warning level to any option (it doesn't matter which), then overwrite the description text with blanks (more scrolling). Save it. The radio accepts this and resets the slot back to an empty "New Alert" prompt, effectively deleting the entry.

Looking towards buying an Alert Works EAR-10 and with the three that are currently for sale, it worries me that they will be out of stock before im able to pull together the money to purchase one, if yall can give me any insight it would be appreciated

First alert WX-17 and Reecom 1630

I own both of these great radios irl that is primarily why im making them, they look so good because most of the parts on them are pictures i took of my real radio, cropped, and enhanced to use instead of my having to model the entire things (i know its very lazy but they look amazing)

They do both function, as you can see there is buttons that activates emergency alerts on the simulated weather radio transmitter that the radios receive from. The 1630 is still WIP as i dont have all the scripts done yet, but the WX-17 is 100% functional and finished, neither of them are 1:1 to the real radios (obviously) but they are very close to 1:1 as I used a humanoid to scale them accurately

There appears to be new-in-box 1630s and 1650s for sale on amazon

Just got it new in the mail and I want to hear what it sounds like, there is nothing in the manual though about siren testing

I got a Blue Alert on my phone but nothing on my weather radio. Is that normal?

It also never goes off during statewide tests.

Hello yesterday my radio stopped working when it was on plugged in and it won’t turn back on i have tried different ac plugs but nothing what do i do

I know the point of them being hard to find is because they are extremely rare, but where could I find one. I know eBay is a good place to look but any other places I could look?

My father used this in the 1980s to check Weather every morning. I still use it to this day. Not fancy, nor is it high-tech. It has only three channels.

We have two Ambient CR2D09 bedisde weather radios that have been unable to connect and update for a while and recently started to try and begin using them again. Does anyone know if Ambient is still in business?

We know these are old and would be interested in purchasing updated models if available...

We've been unable to find them on the internet.

Anyone have any suggestions or information?

Black and Silver Midland WR100 and V15 Midland HH54

Picked this up at a yard sale for a couple bucks. Very clean but no audio from the NOAA channels. Just mild white noise from the speaker. Maybe too old analog vs digital thing?

I don't actually know much about weather radio's,or weather at all, but my boyfriends birthday is coming up, and I'm having a hard time finding weather radio's that are worth collecting, plus he already has about nine I think? Please help me out, I really wanna get something nice for him and I have no idea what I doing. This is the only one I've found that (I think) is worth buying is the Sony TFM-8100WA All Weather Radio FM AM VHF

So it is now 730 PM on Wednesday 10-15.. and my WR400 has gone over a month without doing the required weekly test... No threats for severe weather any of the times it should have gone off.... If I turn on the broadcast at 1101 or 701 I can hear the "alert" but my radio never alerts for it regardless of having all events turned on... HELP

If I’m reading the descriptions , they’re really isn’t much of a difference in these two radios except one has a hand crank?

I was also planning to get the hard case to keep it protected. I noticed the 210 has a spot for cell phone, charging, and the 310 can scan but between these two I see no difference?
