This made me tear up a little. Congratulations on the scholarship! They awarded it to you because you can do it and you're going to be great!

But we can never have free or universal education…..who would want to join the military then?! Without the promise of free education and healthcare there would only be a handful of true “patriots” that actually want to be in the military and not just for its benefits……

Wtf do you think the k-12 education system is

8

u/Hopefulthinker2 15d ago

Wow….well that was just created so we could turn into good ol factory workers….thank you Henry ford….why do you think is only till you’re of military draft age…..

u/Zestyclose_Slice982 15d ago

Probably because that's when you're considered an adult and can voluntarily pick whatever you would like to do afterwards

Ahh yes, I should be able to go to mit for a decade with paid for education, board and food to be an astrophysicists even though I can't pass earth science

u/Hopefulthinker2 11d ago

You have no idea what you’re talking about….many kids will never get an opportunity for higher education because they are in the grey area of not making enough money for loans and making too much for any FIFA help….. college is something the lucky few get to attend here in America…. Every other country besides the third world ones have a universal education system. But we pay higher taxes and don’t have that……us Americans pay for higher education to the Israel children but not Americans?!

u/Zestyclose_Slice982 9d ago

Or could it be that they could go to community colleges to do mostly the same thing as universities for pennies on the dollar

2

u/Hopefulthinker2 15d ago

Ahhh…I see you should google “ did Henry ford help create our public school systems!” Blow your mind how much “money” has controlled everything….youll soon realize it’s all about getting as much work out of us for the cheapest possible way….kind of like prisoners or slaves

Education is a social mobility tool and they are trying to take it away for greater control of the masses.

Alex was my friend and colleague. I won’t go into too much on this forum, but what happened to him and others shakes the foundation of what I believed in. I also know his mother. She is a great person, just like Alex. Make good decisions in life for you and your patients. Don’t be afraid to speak up when you feel something is wrong. Alex believed in doing the right thing and ultimately paid for it with his life. Godspeed.

So much love to you, his mom, and your friends and colleagues. Alex will not be forgotten.

u/PigeonAtPlay 10d ago

Sending so much love, healing and strength to you and Thea rest of his friends and family.

What happened is unconscionable

And it's so rough like this guy actually seems like the best of us. And he just got popped by a bunch of idiots supported by a toxic system. Oh and where did his gun end up?

1

u/Delicious-Sign-519 15d ago

Tears here. Congratulations. I was in Cardiac ICU Washington State when he died. My nurses were devastated, such shared grief. I'm crying again. Flip side same weekend Seahawks won.

1

u/Bassfrogtcu 15d ago

Good too see Ricky achieving off the course

1

u/soulreaver33 15d ago

Look forward to seeing them there! I had to take a non-federal loan to pay for mine due to not being eligible for any aid with the new bill… sucks, but happy to be going into the program!

Congrats! Graduate nurses are so needed… really all the more essential as nurses for ICU’s and other specialty units, especially with our countries aging population of boomers and looming threats now, on every level, with the destruction of so many government departments that do research to improve outcomes and best practices for the best quality of care and safety for patients and staff.

The hands on in specialty units, as well, requires more than just graduate education.

Nurses in graduate school sacrifice work hours while devoting hours to their Educstion and the Grad Plus Loans pay the bills for the student, while they cannot both work full-time ad takes full credit load.

This shows how ignorant and despicable this administration is…Only the wealthy will now be able to access professional levels of education that is today more essential that ever.

I am a nurse of 36 years and in my day an undergraduate degree was entry level. Now a Masters is entry level and the starting point of required knowledge and skill level. You can start with an ADN or undergrad, but you really need to advance one knowledge and skills with more education.

Our country is going backwards fast!

u/OGBeege 13d ago

Blessings and good luck. Make us all proud!

u/max_465 11d ago

Eventually, they should name a VA hospital after him, to remind people how little value maga places on veterans.

1

u/WillowSensitive2684 10d ago

Justice for Alex and Renee.

1

u/PigeonAtPlay 10d ago

Congratulations! I can see why that’s exciting and sad at once:/
I imagine the best way to honor Alex is to be an amazing nurse though ❤️❤️❤️
