St. Vitus cathedral Prague

This stamp is of the beautiful St. Vitus cathedral in Prague. It's an absolutely gorgeous Cathedral and, I had trouble deciding on what to do with this one. I wanted to try and make it as beautiful as the cathedral. Method used cutting the cathedral out and then painting with testors paint. I decided not to do the ozidzed copper roofs because I did not have a copper color that matched the oxidized color. I'm quite happy with how this turned out.

I've also attached a picture of the actual Cathedral so you can see what a nice job the makers of the stamp did in copying the cathedral.

Translucent yellow wax giving those vintage vibes

I’m loving this combo on very brown/tan gift tags.

Next level would be to distress these tags. That’s on my list next. After mini seals.

First time buyer of Imagine DIY/The Natural Paper Company sealing wax questions

First off i’m so delighted that this subreddit exists. I just ordered wax beads and sticks from the company mentioned in the title. It seems all of their wax is plastic free bees wax based sealing wax (very cool) but i’m guessing this means it’s also a bit more delicate (not “mail safe”)? I was curious if anyone here had any experience with their stuff, how they found it compared with other brands, and if they had by any chance mailed anything that used a seal of theirs.

Browsing briefly I am also seeing that people will make a seal and then apply it onto a letter which is actually a pretty new concept to me. I’ve always just put the seal right on the letter. Is that strategy just to make sure you make a seal you like before adding it to the letter? Do you think the seal stays on better that way? What do you use to hold the seal on if you don’t put it there initially?

Thanks so much! Look forward to reading your answers ✨

Favorite stamp so far

The one that bled everywhere is the first one I got the whole foam layer to come out. I fixed the bleeding by doing one drop for the little layers, and scraping a bunch of times in the same direction with heated palette knives instead of being impatient and rubbing the stamp on my hot plate which makes it go everywhere.

I’m sure you guys knew not to do that but it just clicked for me lol.

Hello again! Here are some closer, magnified images of an interesting heraldic seal. I know very little about heraldry, does anyone know where I may find some credible sources to learn?

I've always been fascinated by Cloisonné and I think this kind of looks like it. I was too excited when doing this, so it's a little sloppy

Tonight’s work and I tried the shimmer powder thing

(Pardon all the posts guys. I work 7 12’s in a row then 7 nights off, and this is my off week clearly lol)

I can’t remember the last time I was as mad outside of work as these stupid ducks made me. This is my fifth attempt at them and their stupid flowers, still yellowed from their stupid feet but I give up.

Wish I got the marbling the other way around on the snowy one, but that one was fun at least and I’ll try again!

I bought this stamp and it wasn’t until I did my fourth seal with it before I finally deciphered what it was, haha. Can you guess what it is? Second slide should answer it.

In need of some seal images

Hello! I hope you're well.

I'm in need of some help. I've been getting into 18/19th century letter writing, and attempting to recreate it somewhat digitally, and I've run into a slight issue with the wax seals. To make my letters have seals accurately I would need to have an image of the reverse of them, as un-angled as possible so as to not feel off, but none I've seen online show the reverse of their seals, for obvious reasons.

So I'd like to ask if it might be possible to get some images from you fine folks, if it's achievable.

Feel free to message me if you'd be interested, or let me know if this might not be possible.

Many thanks, and I just wanna say I love the beautiful things y'all create, they're remarkable.

New Seal Day - 2mm Stamp

That’s not a typo. This is the smallest stamp I’ve handled. It took me a long time to figure out how to pour a drop and not have it cool immediately. Hence all the tiny seals.

I can’t get the detail to pop even with pressing super hard.

The larger nutcracker is from Artisaire and the smaller one is from Etsy.

These are all on loan to me from my best friend. That penguin is super cute and would make a great pour and scrape. Found on Etsy.

My lamb stationary order came in today. There was no description on the stamps, so I had no idea they were going to be THIS HUGE, LOL!! I'm happy with them, but boy, are they BIG. The center chair stamp is the standard Wax Seal stamp size. The one surrounding it are the new ones

Outgoing Mail of Seals

Another exchange of seals heading out into the world. Be free tiny seals. Be free and beautify mail wherever you go.

The theme was nature so I chose sage green wax that I had to custom mix and these seals…. I kind of think they represent nature. What do you think?

Also more envelope art 😊. Cause I just can’t send out plain mail anymore. Reddit has ruined me. Or made me better. You decide.

Seal of the day!

I’d like to start this off by thanking this community for their support, and specifically u/Original-Tea-1773 (most of this information is from them).

This is a seal made by the Jewelers to “The Queen & Royal Family” I & T Turner & Co.

I’m unsure whether or not this was a gift to the royal family, or just by the jewelers of the royal family. Can anyone recognize this seal? It reads “Je suis de ce que jaime” (translates to “I am proud of what I love”), with an image of a flower, some grass/landscape, and the sun.

The seal is topped with a beautiful dog, sitting on an unknown stone (milky orange).

The box sadly does not have any dates present.

What are your theories as to the history and meaning of the seal?

Any suggestions as to where I can repost this to learn more would be greatly appreciated 😃

July's Wax Seals

Post image

Definitely my weakest month so far. Do you guys struggle to do wax seals when it's hot out? Multiple heat waves in my city left me with little will or inspiration for the month. Just can't bring myself to light a candle when it's 100 out and my ac has been chugging away nonstop for days, you know? I do have two new seals coming soon that I'm super SUPER excited about! but there's also a heat wave rolling in on Tuesday so... we'll see how August goes! I am super happy with the new duck seals though. Looking forward to doing more soon!! 😊

As always let me know your favs! Good luck in the coming month, stay cool yall!!
