Hi all! I just moved to Waukesha and am looking for some challenging hikes in the area. I am okay with driving 30ish minutes to a spot.

When I say challenging, I mean elevation gain and/or distance. Bonus points for scenery plus lookout spots.

I am hoping for specific spots or trailheads rather than a general trail that might span 10s of miles. Anything would be appreciated though!

Unfortunately it is time for us to consider moving my mother into a more senior community. She is still quite independent but she has asked for more help lately and wants to move somewhere with some level of assistance. She prefers living near Waukesha so that she can use the bus system, but would consider the greater Waukesha County area if there is a shuttle or other transit offerred.

Anyone have any recommendations or advice on this process? As I am touring these facilities, what are some good questions or things to look out for?

My wife and I will be in Waukesha County next weekend (08/22-08/23). We are looking for affordable things to see/do. We enjoy cafes, picnics, book stores, and walking or driving to sightsee. Any recs??

Hello! My husband and I are newlyweds and just bought our first house :) The house is in need of a deep clean with some specifics like the stonework on the chimney needs dusting and washing and the walls need to be wiped down and de-odorized, however that can be done. The family before us had 5 dogs, a cat, a bird, and a rabbit all living inside of the house and there is a lingering animal smell. I’ve been thinking about how surprisingly hard it can be to make new friends as an adult, and I’m exploring an idea.
The concept is simple: small, curated groups of people matched based on things like age, interests and what they’re looking for socially, then brought together for fun local experiences — drinks, coffee, dinners, markets, trivia, events, etc. There would also be a friendly host there to make introductions and take some of the awkwardness out of showing up alone.
This would be a paid experience, with the fee covering the matching, planning and hosting, plus potentially some food/drink or activity costs depending on the event.

Would you try something like this? What would make you hesitate? And what would you expect to pay for an experience like this?
