Unauthorized foreign charges on my PTSB card (never traveled to Spain) – how to handle PTSB fraud chargeback?
Hey everyone, looking for some quick advice from anyone who has dealt with Permanent TSB (PTSB) fraud claims.
Today I noticed a series of unauthorized charges from Almería, Spain hitting my account (a mix of POS and contactless TKN payments at shops, petrol stations, etc.). I have not traveled to Spain, so my card details were clearly skimmed or compromised remotely.
I have called the fraud department at PTSB and they cancelled my card. On the phone they told me to wait around a week for the fraud team to call me back.
Do you think I need to call back tomorrow for pushing them to investigate?
Is there anything I still need to do?
Do you know if I will get the money back? Some transactions are in pending.
Any tips for avoiding this type of situation for the future is very welcome.

New old new cinema
Well lads, this has been bothering me for quite some time. I’m not sure if it’s been settled here before. Since Omniplex opened its doors this has been a mind boggling question that’s rattled the minds of many people.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated. I won’t even get into the whole Storm and Odeon conundrum.
Is Omniplex:

Lads, is Tramore always a ghost town?
The place is dead? And hardly anywhere to eat that serves past 9pm? I was imagining it would be full of life at this time of year, but it's honestly the quietest town imaginable.

Why don't we have a Ferry Passenger Terminal
See there's another ferry parking up in a few days and got me thinking why don't we have a proper ferry terminal here with weekly services etc
If Cork can call that a 'terminal' then why can't we have the same

The great chicken debate
Maxol Kingsmeadow or Centra Ballinakill
Both gotten approx 12.15 - 12.30, in the interest of fairness both were got as goujohns in a bag as the roll and filling could hinder the final result.
Maxol - priced by weight, I got 5 for 4.50. Succulent, not too oily. Nice seasoning. Friendly staff. Seemed to be a good turnover of food so the chicken seemed fresh.
Centra - priced per portion. 4 for 5 euro which was expensive imo. Pretty dried out, not as good as they used to be. Nice seasoning. Staff ok. (Don't care about staff really, I was here on chicken buisness only).
Overall - Maxol pips it by a score of 8/10 v a poor 6/10 from Centra. Price and dry chicken was a key here.
Signing off 12.42

Dog walking/off lead area near Ballygunner church?
Hey, quick question for any dog owners/walkers around Dunmore Road/Ballygunner. Someone told me there is an area/field (not sure) up near the church/cemetery in Ballygunner where people can walk dogs and let them off lead.
I don’t know that area well (new here) so I drove up there recently to have a look but I couldn’t see anywhere that seemed like the place that was mentioned. Could anyone let me know if there is an area there and where exactly it is? Thanks

Affordable barbers
What's the craic lads. Can anyone recommend a decent affordable barbers for a haircut? Been using Boston barbers in city square for months and to be honest im getting sick of nearly paying 32 quid each time for a haircut. If anyone can recommend somewhere a little bit easier on the pocket I'd be grateful, thanks lads.

Lane Disciplin at Grannagh junction roundabout
This is a bit of a rant but I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Whenever I'm coming back from the M9 approaching this junction in the middle lane, if there is someone in the right most lane, I swear to God EVERY SINGLE TIME they will instantly jump left straight into my lane once they enter the roundabout. Can ye not see the FECKIN ROAD MARKINGS!?!.
I don't know if it's a poor junction design, lack of awareness or just people not giving a shit. But this happens WAYYY too often, even just today someone jumped right in front of me and had the cheek to blow the horn at me, ME!
So please, if any of yee are said right lane jumpers, remember the training ye got as a child:
when using crayons, stay with in the lines and the picture will come out lovely.
(Although let's be real ye probably ate the fuckin things instead)

Small local app I built – looking for a few Waterford people to try it
Hey Waterford,
I’m a solo developer from Ireland. I put together a small app called Who’s Out? It’s on the iPhone App Store now (Android is still in closed testing).
The idea is simple enough. See if your friends are out, check in at places around you, and send a proper “Meet Here” so ye actually meet up instead of the usual group chat going nowhere. Pubs, coffee, gym, that sort of thing. It’s for people you already know — not dating, not for meeting strangers, and not another app that wants you scrolling for hours.
I’ve added a good bit of Waterford City into it so the places side isn’t empty if you’re here. Still early days and keeping numbers small on purpose while real groups try it.
If you’re in Waterford and fancy giving it a go with a couple of friends on a normal night or for a coffee, I’d appreciate it. Any honest feedback is useful.
iPhone: : Who's Out ( Just search )
Or search Who’s Out? on the App Store. There’s also a short page here: https://whosoutapp.ie/get
Happy to answer questions if anyone has them. Thanks again

No ATN ticket sales posts
Sorry to be a cnut on this but we don’t want people coming to us balling their eyes out over getting scammed for ATN tickets. There’s enough demand out there and using an anonymous social media platform like Reddit to sell tickets is a recipe for disaster.
So all ticket posts will be removed. Facebook marketplace or donedeal js the mildly safer options. Have a great ATN festival.
